Under Triple H’s era, WWE has been focusing on long-term storytelling. One such example is the ongoing saga between Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio. The company has been igniting the feud in every possible aspect for the last few months. Moreover, the prolonged storytelling between the two has been occurring within the roster, behind the scenes, around homes and hotels, in the backstage area, etc. Therefore, the fans believe that it would culminate in a match between the father and his son at WrestleMania 39.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has locked in the match between Rey and Dominik at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Ever since betraying his father at the Clash at the Castle, Dominik hasn’t stopped chasing his father. The two of them were a part of the same roster. As a result, the 25-year-old never stepped back to make a mockery of the legendary luchador. However, Rey Mysterio switched his brand to escape the unpalatable situation. Despite switching brands, the modern day Latino Heat has been beyond the pale with his father.

WWE has been building up the feud between the two of them for quite some time. Moreover, the fans have invested their time & money in this storyline and the way it is shaping up ahead of WrestleMania. The fans have been waiting from a long time to witness a match between a father and son, which is very rare scenario in the company. However, WWE has yet to make an official announcement regarding this. But the storyline has been continuing at full pace in the subsequent episodes of Raw and SmackDown.

Dominik Mysterio has been quite impressive ever since joining The Judgment Day. Rhea Ripley pulled Dominik out of his father’s shadow and turned him into a macho guy. Dom and his Mami never missed an opportunity to make Rey Mysterio’s life a living hell. Thus, it would be interesting to see the long-term storytelling between the two finally mould into a match at The Show of Shows.

Rey Mysterio faced Karrion Kross in a match on this week’s edition of SmackDown. However, Dominik interrupted the match to distract the luchador. As a result of the distraction, Karrion Kross wrapped Mysterio in the Kross Jacket to win the match. The modern-day Latino Heat confronted his father after the match. Moreover, Dominik affronted and humiliated the legendary Luchador in the middle of the ring.

Despite the humiliation, Rey Mysterio felt himself bound by the ties of fatherhood and did not raise a hand on his son. The leader of the 619 left the ring after being constantly provoked by Dominik Mysterio. The segment between Rey and Dominik added fuel to the storyline between the two. Therefore, it is inevitable that the two of them would clash at the biggest event of the year to put an end to the Mysterio saga.
