Premier League 2020/21: Chelsea vs Crystal Palace


Chelsea vs Crystal Palace ends 4-0. A spectacular second half display from the Pensioners sees them soar through.
Second half goals from Chilwell,Zouma and Jorginho ensures the three points for Chelsea. However Crystal Palace will be disappointed with the loss after two straight wins.
First Half

Frank Lampard started with Eduoard Mendy at goal for Chelsea. Ben Chilwell too was on the lineup as he made his home debut. However Mason Mount was named on the substitute list.
Chelsea had most of the possession in the starting minutes. A quick exchange of passes saw Kante free up Callum Hudson Odoi on the right and his cross gets blocked for a corner. The blues had yet another chance from a set-piece later on. A lovely free kick is delivered which is patted down in the box by Thiago Silva. However the resultant shot from Jorginho is just over the goalpost.
Crystal Palace pertaining to their playing style were happy to sit back and counter attack. Moreover most of their attacks did come from Chelsea mistakes. Andros Townsend did well on the right flank to deliver an inviting cross in the box. However Mahmadou Sakho’s header was well wide of the target.
Second Half

Ben Chilwell scored his first Chelsea goal on his debut Premier League match. Azpillecueta with the first time cross which is blocked originally. Tammy Abraham wins the header for Chelsea which sees the ball fall at Chilwell’s feet. The left back smashes the ball into the back of the net to give Chelsea the lead!

Kurt Zouma scored the second goal for Chelsea. Ben Chilwell floated in a lovely ball into the box to see Zouma rise the highest. The Frenchman’s header is inch perfect and the Crystal Palace goalkeeper had no chance.
Both the 3rd and 4th goal for Chelsea were scored by Jorginho from the penalty spot. The first one a foul on Tammy Abraham sees him make it 3-0 to Chelsea.
The second is another soft tackle on Havertz by Crystal Palace. The Italian steps up again to slot the ball to the left of the goalkeeper. The match ends 4-0.
