Arsenal won against Villa to cement their place in the top four.

Aston Villa locked horns with Arsenal at the Villa Park as both the clubs looked to get back to winning ways after their defeats to West Ham United and Liverpool respectively.

Arsenal responded well as they displayed a strong performance, especially in defense. Bukayo Saka scored in the first half with a well-taken volley from near the box. Arsenal did hold on to their lead as they now cement their spot in top four.

The Argentine made an important save early in the game to deny’s ball deflected off Konsa and had a decent distribution of the ball. However, he could not do anything to deny Saka as there were a lot of Villa Shirts in front of him when Saka took the shot.

Cash was driving forward from his wing in order to contribute to the attack combining wth the other midfielders but at times he conceded some needless fouls.

Ezri Konsa 6.5/10

HE made some good clearances and tackles but he could have scored an own goal early in the game when he misjudged the delivery but Martinez made a big save.

Tyrone Mings 6/10

Mings could not track the in behind runs of Saka, Odegaard and co and got the yellow card in first half due to the foul on Saka. However he grew into the game as it progressed.

Ashley Young 6/10

He could not offer much going forward as Saka was constantly trying to attack from that wing. He sent some long balls but could get control on his wing.

John McGinn 7/10

He was one of the most lively Aston Villa players on the day as he made a lot of appearances near the post to create and try to score. He sent some good lobbed deliveries and also had decent long-range efforts.

Douglas Luiz 7/10

The Brazilian won most of his duels and had a very good passing accuracy in this game while he also tried to create the chances through sending crosses & long balls.

Jacob Ramsey 6/10

The young Villa midfielder was trying to create something with the ball constantly but the end product was lacking. He was substituted in the second half.

He got his start in a while and h had a quiet first half but made a decent comeback in the second half with little tricks and tweaks near the box but could not a direct contribution.

His passing was impressive at times as he tried to gain a bit of control. However, he could not replicate his recent performances in form of goals and assist.

Saka had a very good game indeed as his goal proved to be the match-winner. He was constantly creating chances from his flank with some tricks and tweaks.

Smith Rowe was very lively on the left flank creating problems for Cash and co with his speed and drive.
