Liverpool scored six past Leeds as they thrive at Anfield
Liverpool locked horns with Leeds United at Anfield as the Reds look to maintain the pace at the top. Liverpool opened the scoring through Mohamed Salah as he scored from the penalty spot. Joel Matip got himself a goal as he scored brilliantly from the close range. Salah dispatched from the spot again to make it three-nil before the break.
Liverpool had the same drive in the second half as Mane scored twice while Van Dijk scored a sixth of the night in stoppage time.

Liverpool
Very efficient with the distribution but once he kept the ball too long which caused a bit of panick at the back.
Trent Alexander Arnold 7/10
He made a timely rush to stop the Leeds forward from getting into a very good position. Trent combined well with midfield in link up play and sent some great crosses.
Joel Matip 7/10
Matip was very efficient in carrying the ball. He made a good sprint forward and with a very good short pass from Salah, he scored from a close range as he picked the near post.
Virgil Van Dijk 7/10
He was composed at the back throughout the game and made some very good clearances and interceptions. He stopped Raphinha on the right flank in crucial moment. The towering center back scored sixth goal of the night.
Andy Robertson 6.5/10
He had a good chance to score after link up play with Diaz but Meslier made a save. He was constantly driving forward to aid the attack.
Fabinho 7/10
Shielded the defense well with some timely tackles. He hit it wide when he was provided with a good chance of scoring.
Thiago 7.5/10
Some of his distribution helped Liverpool to gain the control over the game. He dropped back at times to make recoveries.
Curtis Jones 6.5/10
He often lost the ball in midfield which sparked Leeds attacks. However at times he kept the good hold of the ball and combined well with Salah. However, he had a good second half as he got into some nice attacking positions.
Luis Diaz 7/10
The Colombian made a bright start to the game with his sprints and skills which excited the Liverpool fans. He was a constant threat from that left hand side and he came close to scoring but Meslier stopped him. His link up with Robertson was very impressive.
Sadio Mane 7/10
Started as a striker and he caused so many problems to rearguard with his elite positioning helping others to create. He scored in the second half after meeting Henderson’s pass. He scored Liverpool’s fifth after Origi’s effort.
Mohamed Salah 7.5/10
The Egyptian magician scored two clinical penalties from the spot and assisted Matip’s goal. Some of his passing and link up play helped Liverpool’s attack to a great extent.

Jordan Henderson 6.5/10
He adjusted to the game very well and made a big impact as he assisted Sadio Mane’s first goal.
Divock Origi 7/10
He tried to score from a tight range but the ball came off Meslier and Sadio Mane scored.

Meslier 6.5/10
He could not o anything those two Salah’s clinical penalties. He made a good stop from Diaz’s effort from close range. He was decent in distribution.

He had some difficult time in dealing with Diaz on his right side. He made some good interception but could not go forward.
Luke Ayling 6.5/10
He could not judge inside runs and link up play between Liverpool forwards. He made some good aerial clearances in the first half.
Struijk 6.5/10
He made a bright start but as the game progressed Liverpool’s attack got the better of him. He gave away some needless fouls.
Junior Firpo 7/10
Firpo was good in carrying the ball forward from his side. However, he got some needless booking with a late tackle on Fabinho which restricted him a bit in the rest of the game.
Forshaw 7/10
He was Leeds one of the best players as he shielded the backline at times and won some 50/50s in crucial positions.
Jack Harrison 6.5/10
He sent some lobbed crosses from his left flank but could not find any white shirt. At times he failed to track back from the attacking positions which ended in Liverpool’s favor.
Rodrygo 6/10
He was good in building up the play but lacked physicality and aerial presence. He was substituted at the break for Roberts.
Klich 6.5/10
He could not affect the game much as Liverpool won the midfield battle. He was good one linkup play with Raphinha but the Brazilian could not score.
Rafinha 6.5/10
He was very lively from his flank. He put the ball in the net but it was offside. Raphinha was constantly trying to make the things tick from the right side.
Daniel James 6.5/10
He almost got the ball from Alisson which could have turned into a goal. He was very less involved in the game as the two towering center backs just stopped the supply to him.

He provided a much needed energy and drive to the team after coming on. He had some good moments when he came into good positions but could not score or assist.
