- The Miami Open will offer a total prize money of $9,415,725 for both men's and women's singles.
- Champions will receive $1,151,380 and 1000 ranking points, while runners-up will earn $612,340.
- Defending champion Aryna Sabalenka aims to retain her title after winning the Indian Wells tournament.
Following the conclusion of the Indian Wells, the Miami Open has the same tantalizing rewards on offer for the best players in the world. The two top tournaments are offering an equal sum of prize money for both the ATP and WTA events, which is a very important step in making fair pay in the sport.
In a similar pattern to the event in California, this creates an opportunity for both men and women to compete for a large sum of cash and ranking points. With this being the second consecutive Masters 1000 tournament, men’s players have the opportunity to claim ranking points who had a poor run at Indian Wells.
The likes of Lorenzo Musetti, Alex de Minaur, Ben Shelton, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Taylor Fritz will be eyeing a deeper run at the tournament following their Indian Wells disappointment. Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner will be aiming to earn his second title of the season after claiming his first at Indian Wells.
Carlos Alcaraz reached the semi-finals of the Indian Wells for the fourth consecutive season before losing to eventual runner-up Daniil Medvedev. The Spaniard has already won two titles this year and holds a mind-blowing 16-1 record on tour. However, he has not reached the final of the Miami tournament since winning it in 2022.
Novak Djokovic, who is the third seed at the tournament announced last week that he will not feature at the event. Since winning the event for the sixth time in 2016, he has only featured thrice at the event. On the women’s side, Coco Gauff is likely to withdraw from the event due to the arm injury she suffered in the third round of the Indian Wells.
Iga Swiatek, who has not beaten a top 10 player in 2026, will be seeking to bounce back at the Miami Open. She hasn’t been able to get past the quarter-finals of a tournament this season and has won just one top 20 tie. Besides that, she has dropped to World No.3 for the first time since July, and fans are beginning to call for her to part ways with her team.
Aryna Sabalenka is the defending champion of the Miami Open and just needs to continue with her form to retain the title. She will be full of confidence at the tournament after beating Elena Rybakina in the final of the Indian Wells, her first title since losing to the Kazakhstan star at the Australian Open in Melbourne.

Alexandra Eala was catapulted to fame last year at the Miami Open after reaching the semi-finals before losing to Jessica Pegula. The Filipino star has reached back-to-back WTA 1000 fourth rounds and will be eyeing another deep run at this year’s event. Meanwhile, Pegula reached the final of last year’s Miami Open before losing to Sabalenka. She won the Dubai Tennis Championships last month.
