PSG Sporting Director believes Ronaldo to PSG could happen
Cristiano Ronaldo has been at his usual best for Juventus this season and has got 6 goals this season. Moreover, he has been a resounding success after moving from Real Madrid in 2018 and has got 71 goals for Juventus so far. He shows no signs of aging despite being 35 years old and is single handedly winning matches for Juve. However, Juventus are looking to cash on him next summer as his wages are proving to be a stumbling block and also his contract expires in 2022.
PSG look like the best suitors for Ronaldo
Ronaldo and PSG are obsessed with the same goal of winning the Champions League. This goal could bring both of these parties together in a mutually beneficial deal. PSG Sporting Director, Leonardo acknowledged this and speaking to PSGTV said, “Today in football we do not know what will happen. Maybe tomorrow Cristiano Ronaldo wakes up and says I want to go play elsewhere.”
He further believes PSG will be top of the queue and said, “Who can buy him? It’s a closed circle. PSG enters this circle. Usually it is about opportunities, situations. The transfer window, we have to prepare for it and that’s what we do. We have our priorities, our lists, but something unforeseen can happen.”
As the rest of the football world grapples with the effect of coronavirus, Leonardo believes PSG are well equipped to deal with this crisis. He said, “But honestly, at PSG, there is the capacity and the means to overcome the crisis. The other clubs will perhaps have more difficulty to overcome the crisis. But the ambition here is always enormous.”
