Puka Nacua and Sydney Sweeney came close to dating one another before the Los Angeles Rams wide receiver was seen with a different woman. That said, he had no idea Sweeney was already dating someone else.

Earlier in the year, Sweeney revealed she was in the hunt for an athletic partner. Nacua tried to impress Sweeney by saying he loves skydiving from planes. Not long after, the paparazzi caught Sweeney with producer Scooter Braun on the streets of Los Angeles.

Nacua moved on from pursuing the star of The Handmaid’s Tale, realizing she was unavailable. “After I figured out the information, I played it cool…” Nacua said.

That said, his search for love was far from over. He dabbled around a bit. First, he was seen leaving with an unknown brunette during Super Bowl week. He later had dinner with influencer and YouTube star Hannah Stocking and most recently spent a day with 39-year-old WWE star Charlotte Flair at the Daytona 500. When pressed about the rumors of dating, Nacua joked, “I’m new to LA, so me and people love to hang out.”

After a dream day with Flair on the circuit, Nacua was seen at the airport with viral fitness influencer Sara Saffari. Nacua’s attempt to blend in with the crowd by wearing a black hoodie only made him stand out even more. A fan recognized the Pro Bowl wideout leading Saffari through the food court before disappearing.

However, Safarri later clarified that she and Nacua are siblings and there’s zero to no chance of a romance blooming between them.

It’s not as if Nacua hasn’t experienced love in his life. He was in love with Hallie Aiono and welcomed a son with her. However, their three-and-a-half-year relationship came to an abrupt end after Ainoo pressured him to undergo a paternity test to confirm he is the father of baby Kingston. Nacua refused to follow through with her wish, resulting in a very public breakup.

Speaking on Adin Ross‘s stream, Nacua revealed that he does not want to get married and advised others to do the same. Meanwhile, Patriots second-year quarterback Drake Maye holds a different perspective on marriage. Maye, 23, who married his high school sweetheart Ann Michael, urged everyone to get married early.

I definitely would advise [my teammates] to get married. It’s one of the best things in life… I chose to get married young, and I don’t regret it one bit.

Nacua reacted to the Rams completing a blockbuster trade

On Wednesday, a few days after the NFL Combine wrapped up in Indiana, the Rams addressed a key position by making a massive trade. The team of Sean McVay and Les Snead traded for cornerback Trent McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs. Per Adam Schefter, the Rams sent a 2026 first-round draft pick (No. 29), a fifth-round pick, a sixth-round pick, and a 2027 third-round pick in exchange for McDuffie.

The trade news comes after McDuffie hinted that he could join the NFC West team if the Chiefs no longer wanted him in KC.

Moving close to LA is a boon for the former 21st overall pick, seeing that he is from Westminster, California. It seems Nacua is ready to greet him with open arms.

McDuffie, a two-time Super Bowl champion, made 246 combined tackles, 12 TFLs, 34 PDs, 3 interceptions, and had 8 FFs during his time in KC. Nacua, meanwhile, made a case for himself to have a big payday next year after racking up 1715 yards and 10 touchdowns from 129 receptions in 2025.
