Israel Adesanya was one of the commentators for the Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr. fight, which ended in a draw. It was confirmed that “The Last Stylebender” will be working as an analyst, only a few days ago and the middleweight champion was obliged to take it up.
Ahead of UFC 253 in September, Adesanya signed a historic sponsorship deal with Puma. “I only work with companies that align with my values and goals and PUMA is an awesome fit,” Adesanya said speaking of it.
More recently, while on air, commentating – Adesanya took a jibe at UFC’s Reebok deal, mocking its originality.
“It lacks the originality boxers are able to show tonight”
Athletic MMA Editor Greg Rosenstein tweeted, “Israel Adesanya just joked on-air about the UFC’s deal with Reebok and how it lacks the originality boxers are able to show tonight.”
However, it was met with a mixed response, as a user tweeted tagging the UFC to fine Adesanya for saying so.
Another user claimed that Adesanya was right and that he had a point, while another pointed out the brands UFC used to partner with.
Do you agree with Adesanya’s claims? Was he right in pointing it out on air?
