Carlos Alcaraz continued his brilliant French Open form by beating Argentine Francisco Cerundolo 6-1, 7-5 to earn a place in the second round of the Queen’s Championship. The Spaniard won the title last year which gave him the needed confidence to win the Wimbledon later.
On the other hand, Jack Draper has found his best game on grass after ups and downs this season. The British star won his maiden ATP title on Sunday at Stuttgart making him the British No.1. Yesterday, he produced another fine performance to see off Mariano Navone 6-3, 6-2. Draper will be facing Alcaraz for the third time in his career.

Carlos Alcaraz vs. Jack Draper: Match Preview
Alcaraz has won 26 out of 31 matches this season. The 21-year-old first twisted his ankle in Rio and then sustained a forearm injury, but he has been able to pull through. The Spaniard has won two titles this season. The first came at the Indian Wells Masters where he beat Daniil Medvedev in the final. He recently won his maiden French Open by beating Alexander Zverev in five sets.
The 3-time Grand Slam champion is now in the best form of his career. He has become a Master of all surfaces having won titles in grass, clay, and hard court. Last year, he played excellently on grass which saw him win the Queen’s Championship and the Wimbledon. He will be hoping to do the same this season as he is playing injury-free again after a long forearm trouble that saw him miss the Barcelona Open, Monte Carlo, and Italian Open.
Meanwhile, Jack Draper might not have enjoyed the beginning of the season as much as many hoped for. The British star enjoyed a good run of results at the ATP Challenger and reached the fourth round of the US Open last year. He was then dubbed to be the next Andy Murray. However, even though that may be too early to say, he proved he could be a winner at the Stuttgart Open.
The youngster beat the defending champion Frances Tiafoe in the quarterfinals and went on to beat Matteo Berrettini to win his first title. He now has 19 wins in 31 matches this season. Notably, six of those wins have come in the past one and a half weeks.
Carlos Alcaraz vs. Jack Draper: Match Prediction
Alcaraz will head into the second-round match against Draper full of confidence. The Spaniard knows that the British star might be in form but has flaws in his game. Draper suffered a disappointing loss in the first round of the French Open against Dutch player Jesper De Jong, whom Alcaraz went on to beat in the second round.
Nevertheless, Draper will want to prove that he can rise to the challenge just days after winning the Stuttgart Open. However, he will have to contend with his poor head-to-head record against Alcaraz, which stands at 0-2. Their most recent meeting was at the Indian Wells Masters, where Alcaraz won the match in straight sets.
