r/place Explained and xQc Getting Hate for r/place
Netizens create new trends on the internet every other day and r/place is the latest buzz on the internet. People from around the world are collaborating together and creating mosaic art on Reddit. Twitch streamers are trying to make a mark on the subreddit.
r/place Explained
r/reddit was introduced by Reddit on the 1st April of 2017 and it is getting love again from April 1, 2022. r/place is a collaborative project and social experiment hosted on the social networking site Reddit. The experiment involves an online canvas located on a subreddit called r/place, which registered users could edit by changing the color of a single-pixel from a 16-color palette. After each pixel was placed, a timer prevented the user from placing any pixels for a period of time varying from 5 to 20 minutes.
Streamers on r/place
As streams get thousands of viewers now they have a great influence on the r/place. Many streamers are trying to make their own logos on the subreddit.
Recently, XQC, the biggest streamer on twitch discovered r/place and started making havoc as expected.
Now, XQC is one of the most hated people on the subreddit as he and his views have destroyed many arts already. One Twitter user named @darcysavisa said, “xQc is actually such a horrible streamer with his fanbase just constantly ruining shit on r/place and ruining the fun for loads of people just because he thinks his funny and the worst part is nobody can stop him because he’s like the biggest streamer rn”.
“So now, [xQc]’s attacking me everywhere, which means [BruceDropemOff] is attacking America, OTK’s getting canceled, and now we’re going over here and we’re attacking xQC,” is how Mizkif describes the fallout.
What are your views on this whole r/place scenario? Do you support and take parts on xQc’s raids on the subreddit or are you against it?
