Lando Norris is currently leading the driver’s title standings after his clean sweep of the Brazil weekend. Norris emerged victorious in both the sprint and main race after starting both of them from pole position.

Now, despite his dominant outing, he was being booed on the podium. In a shocking turn of events, a social media post went viral where a Racing Bulls employee was encouraging the booing and asking fans to boo Norris a bit more.

Although Formula 1 has always been a cutthroat sport with intense rivalry, it is certainly a gentleman’s game. No drivers deserve to face such troll behavior from the crowd, and team members should certainly not encourage it.

Lando Norris has his ways to handle the hate and does not really pay attention to them. However, Red Bull’s sister team, Racing Bulls, took quick note of the incident and took prompt action against the employee who was seen encouraging the hostile behavior from the fans.

The Racing Bulls employee booed for a bit and asked the fans to do it, and then he was quickly asked to stop by a colleague to prevent further problems for the team. Now, in a public statement, the team addressed that they were aware of the incident and the video, which has since gone viral. The statement read that this behavior from the employee did not reflect VCARB’s values or spirit.

Further, Racing Bulls confirmed that the matter was handled internally and the employee received his fair share of repercussions. The team clarified that the entire crew believed in celebrating great racing moments and showing respect to each driver, team, and fan.

RB wants to celebrate the driver’s winning both on and off the track and never wants to promote such negative reactions to the winning drivers. Hopefully, none of the team members attempt such stunts again, as the internet sees it all.

We’re aware of the video from the weekend’s podium, It doesn’t reflect our team’s values or the spirit of VCARB. The matter has been handled internally. We believe in celebrating great racing and showing respect to every driver, team, and fan both on and off the track.

Lando Norris claims such negative behavior from crowds ‘quite normal’

Lando Norris is certainly much mature now and doesn’t really pay attention to such reception from the crowd. He is aware that, above all the hate and negativity, he is a great racing driver, who has his own fans who certainly have his back. As such, speaking of the boos and thumbs down he has received in recent race weekends, he reckoned that they were quite normal and part of the sport.

Lando Norris pointed out that there would always be people trying to bring him down, which was quite normal. He added that, being on such a big stage, many people tried to say things and influence others against him.

Regardless, Norris asserted that he heard all the cheers and boos and was not really affected by the latter. Ultimately, the championship leader noted that such a reaction wasn’t nice, but he learnt how to ignore them fully and not be affected by it at all.

There’s always people out there that try and bring you down a little bit. I guess it’s quite normal, When you’re on a big stage, there’s a lot of people that talk and say things, try and influence other people to have effects. Even the cheers and the not-cheers – you still hear it. It’s not the nicest thing. But I think it’s something I’ve done well over the last few months.

Lando Norris said, as reported by motorsport.com.

The 2025 season is nearing completion, and Lando Norris is still leading the campaign. The boos and negativity do not change the fact at hand, which is that the Briton is performing at the pinnacle of his career. With just three races to go, Norris just has to keep up with results and bring home his maiden title win now.
