20-time grand slam champion, Rafael Nadal took the standards of the Balearic Golf Championship to another level. Only two weeks after winning his 20th slam title at the 2020 French Open, the joint-most in the open era, we now saw Rafa playing golf.
Being one of the fittest players on tour, Rafa switched to golf and performed well there too. He was ranked 6th, at a tie, amongst 20 participants at Balearic.
Tennis racket or golf stick, Rafa knows it all
The Balearic Golf Championship saw 60 participants including, 23 professionals. The King of Clay reigned on the grass as Nadal ranked 10th on the first day. He steadily moved up to the seventh spot by the end of the weekend. Ultimately, Nadal ended the 54 holes with 225 strokes in three days of competition.
Rafa was not far away from the winner, Sebastian Garcia, in the charts as Rafa was just 10 shots away from the winner. Nadal delivered on Monday a card with 74 strokes, two more than he needed on Saturday and Sunday at the Mallorcan Maioris golf course, a par 72.
World No.2 will appear in the Rolex Paris Masters 2020 starting at the end of this month. Until then, we can just applaud him for the excellence he consistently shows in every field.
