Several sporting legends have donated their jerseys and equipment in the past. These donations often raise a huge amount of money in auctions. The privileged and relatively wealthy sportsman are more than willing to pay for the memorabilia.

Tennis legends including Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Serena Williams are all set to join forces in order to raise money for a great social cause. Rafael Nadal’s racket is set to be auctioned off soon among other items.The auction will be held on November 4th at Ansorena, which is an auction house in Madrid. The money raised from the auction will be used to help and provide assistance to kids who face the risk of social exclusion.

Legends from several sports show their support

Besides support from tennis players, several sports memorabilia belonging to greats from different sports will also be auctioned. This includes the likes of Brazilian soccer legend and top scorer Pele. David Beckham, former England captain is also part of the list. Basketball legend Larry Bird’s jersey is also to be auctioned including Formula One legend Fernando Alonso’s jumpsuit. Magnus Carlsen’s chess set is also on the list.

Rafael Nadal had previously stated how the coronavirus pandemic induced lockdown had impacted him mentally. He had donated one of his t-shirt from the French Open 2019 campaign and had said, “I don’t know if it was with this polo that I finished the match. But it is one of the four or five that is a t-shirt that means a lot to me. I hope you enjoy it and that the bids will be as high as possible. To raise as much money as possible for all those people who are suffering and who need our support.
