Several questions were raised on why did BCCI not post anything immediately after Suresh Raina’s retirement, much like MS Dhoni’s case. But as they say, ‘Better Late than Never.’ Raina’s contribution to the team started as a batsman and gradually shifted to a part-time bowler in the limited-overs. Gaining him some worthy appreciation for the same.
But the reason why Suresh Raina was always picked up in the limited-overs format during a certain span of years, was because of his exceptional fielding. During his career, no Indian Player took more catches than Raina in ODI’s, having a tally of 102. In T20’s with 42 catches to his name, the southpaw has the most catches by an Indian Fielder.

Talking about the same, BCCI posted on their Twitter Handle about quoting, “Double Delight – Relive these two brilliant catches by Raina as we celebrate the southpaw’s cricketing journey.”
Not just on the International stage but also in the IPL, the most catches taken ever in the history of the league, is also Raina with 102 catches in 193. With the IPL Bonanza returning from the 19th of September, it is almost assured that Raina would be pulling up his sleeve, but dive around pulling of some catches as well as saving some hefty runs.
