Both the sides had a season to forget last time around and will be looking to bounce back in a fresh season of the IPL . The two sides will face each other on April 12 (Monday) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Off late, the Rajasthan Royals have been the most inconsistent side in the IPL. While the side is filled with big names and exciting youngsters, they have so far failed to click as a side together. The Royals will be hoping to change that under the leadership of Samson. His aggressive attitude might just be the push the Royals have been missing.

In a bid to bolster their side, RR have added the likes of Chris Morris, Shivam Dube, Liam Livingstone and Mustafizur Rahman to their squad during the auctions. But ahead of the new season, the Royals have suffered a huge blow as Jofra Archer‘s availability is in doubt. His absence leaves a huge void in the side.

Team Preview – Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings were one of the busiest sides in this year’s auctions. Coming off a disappointing season, PBKS roped in some big names to bolster their side. Their top picks include Jhye Richardson (INR 14 cr), Riley Meredith (INR 8 cr), Shahrukh Khan (INR 5.25 cr), Moises Henriques (INR 4.2 cr) and Dawid Malan (INR 1.5 cr).

While their batting was spot on last season, it was their pace brigade which dissapointed. And so, the inclusion of Aussie duo of Richardson and Meredith brings in the express pace they lacked. The Kings now look an intimidating side with almost all bases covered. It will be interesting to see how they fair in the middle.
