The Divisional battle between the Los Angeles Rams and the Philadelphia Eagles got a touch more interesting after rookie edge rusher Jared Verse’s statement on the latter’s fanbase. Despite growing up near Philadelphia, he cannot tolerate their loyal fanbase.

Jared Verse boldly stated that he hates Eagles fans. Naturally, the city of Philadelphia began to pray that the Eagles beat the Rams and called him out on social media.

They’re so annoying. I hate Eagles fans, When I see that green and white, I hate it. I actually get upset.

Jared Verse told Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times

For Head Coach Sean McVay, Verse’s comments mean nothing. He is sticking with the rookie. “He told his truth. I’m riding with the Rams,” a confident McVay said at his press conference recently. Irrespective of the sentiments that Jared Verse’s statement might have ignited, McVay made sure to have his player’s back rather than undermine him.

Jared Verse had a bad experience with Eagles fans in his first game against the team

The Rams faced the Eagles for the first time this season in Week 12. While the latter team got the best of the former on their home turf, it was a good night for Jared Verse who wound up with seven tackles. However, while he was walking off the field, the fans in green and white began to boo him, and that Philadelphia aggression irritated Verse.

This Sunday, the edge rusher will need to deal with an entire stadium filled with fans wearing white and green. The folks at Lincoln Financial Field will make it a point to show up and be at their loudest to give their team the morale boost needed to beat Los Angeles.

Saquon Barkley reacted to Verse’s comments and is confident it was not the right thing to say before coming to Lincoln Financial Field.

Probably not the smartest thing to say when you’re coming to Philadelphia. I’m pretty sure Philly fans have seen that comment. It was already going to be loud and rocking so it’s just only going to add to it.

Saquon Barkley told the reporters

The decibel levels at the stadium will be through the roof but one thing is for certain, if the Eagles beat the Rams then the team’s fanbase will make sure to stick it to the rookie for the rest of his career.
