John Cena will wrestle for the last time on Monday Night Raw this week. ‘The Prototype’ recently put out a post reminiscing about the 544 matches he’s had on the red brand in a span of 23 years. But that doesn’t appear to have sat well with one of Cena’s greatest WWE rivals—Randy Orton.

‘The Viper’ used a John Cena GIF saying, “Are you sure about that?” Orton’s hilarious dig at the 17-time world champion has the fans in splits. But speaking of it, did Cena actually make an erroneous claim about how many times he’s wrestled on Raw? If one pays close attention to it, the number that Cena came up with also includes non-televised dark matches.

However, when it comes to who’s at the pole position in terms of the most number of televised Raw matches in WWE history, that’s none other than Randy Orton. ‘The Apex Predator’ has set foot inside the ring on Raw on 457 different occasions, with Kane just behind at 442 matches.

‘The Cenation Leader’ is lagging behind in that list with 382 televised encounters on WWE’s flagship show. With Cena set for his last Raw bout this Monday, what if he issues an open challenge and out comes Orton?

Madison Square Garden will come unglued if that actually happens. Even though Orton and Cena have already duked it out earlier this year at Backlash, there would barely be anyone complaining about them getting to mix it up with each other again. But it’s unlikely to happen with ‘The Apex Predator’ still on a hiatus, and he isn’t advertised for any WWE show until the December 5 edition of SmackDown in Texas.

Last week on Raw, John Cena achieved a career grand slam in WWE by defeating Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship. It’s the only title that had evaded the 48-year-old throughout his illustrious career. The Peacemaker star recently posed with his fellow champions, viz., the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and the World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk.

Cena, with the IC title resting on his shoulder, created an iconic picture with Rhodes and Punk showing off their respective world title belts. The said picture was posted by ‘The Best in the World’ on his Instagram, where he expressed heavy gratitude for everything John Cena has done for this business.

‘The Second City Saint’ cherished the memories he and Cena had inside the ring, be it as each other’s rivals or tag team partners. Punk and Cena had a match a few months ago at Night of Champions that ended in shenanigans.

In its lead-up, they did a parody of each other’s shticks, with Cena recreating the Pipebomb and Punk following it up with the “Basic Thuganomics” rap taunt of his rival. Speaking of the man standing to the right of John Cena, he’s the one whom the Hollywood mogul battled with at WrestleMania 41 and then in a rematch at SummerSlam.

Their WrestleMania encounter was unfortunately subpar, with the involvement of Travis Scott in its ending instead of The Rock doing the majority of the damage. Cena and Rhodes took the onus to right every wrong, and they did so by putting on a stellar match at SummerSlam.
