WWE superstars go above and beyond, putting their bodies on the line for the entertainment of their fans. Although wrestling matches are carried out as safely as they can be, things often go wrong, and wrestlers have to deal with injuries of various severity. Unfortunately, Raquel Rodriguez did not come out of Survivor Series unscathed and required medical attention after the bout.
Raquel Rodriguez recently posted several videos on Instagram about the injury that she sustained during the women’s WarGames match. The first clip showed the 33-year-old bleeding profusely out of her elbow. In the following videos, fans can see a medical professional stitching up her elbow. Her fellow Latino superstar, Dominik Mysterio, is also seen checking up on her in one of the videos. Thankfully, she seemed fine after the injury was catered to.
Rodriguez went through a lot during her match. Towards the latter end of the bout, she was handcuffed to the ring ropes, unable to protect her friend, Liv Morgan. This allowed Rhea Ripley to take advantage of the situation and hit the Women’s World Champion with an avalanche Riptide through a table to secure the victory for her team.
This injury simply speaks to the dangers of the WarGames match. Unfortunately, things were not different on the men’s side. Multiple superstars faced injuries due to the nature of the stipulation and the high-risk spots carried out during the match.
Raquel Rodriguez comments on going after Liv Morgan’s Women’s World Championship
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez’s friendship goes back years in the WWE. The duo has even won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship twice together. She also returned at Bad Blood to help the 30-year-old retain her title against Rhea Ripley. However, fans continue to wonder if they will ever get to see a feud between these two superstars.
Speaking on WrestleRant Radio, Rodriguez was asked about her aspirations to become a world champion in WWE, which might mean having to take the title away from Morgan. The Latina superstar denied having any intentions of doing so in the near future.
Rodriguez even went so far as to call Liv Morgan her sister. She added that her goal was to keep the title of the Queen of Extreme for as long as she could, not take it away from her. It would be interesting to see how long the powerhouse can help her partner keep the title away from Ripley, who seems hellbent on becoming champion once again.
