After almost eight months since identifying that she’d be diagnosed with mast cell activation syndrome, Raquel Rodriguez seems likely to make a WWE return in the near future. In late December, the 33-year-old first publicized her medical condition. Despite having not fully recovered from the immunological allergy, she was prematurely put back on television.

In fact, she competed at this year’s Elimination Chamber PLE while having a flare-up of the condition she was plagued with. However, enough time has passed, and she must’ve recovered significantly. Which is why, as per PWInsider, she’s being discussed for a return internally in the foreseeable future. Raquel’s final match came on the February 26 edition of Monday Night Raw.

She squashed Chelsea Green and was later taken off the list of active wrestlers. The Mexican grappler is yet to be factored into the creative plans. But, at least, there’s been some progress in that direction. Speaking of what she’s achieved on the main roster thus far, Rodriguez has won the Women’s Tag Team titles three times.

Her inaugural reign was with Aliyah. After that, she’s had a couple of them with Liv Morgan. Despite being a former NXT Women’s Champion, she’s yet to have that breakout moment on the main roster. Big Mami Cool was denied her first major singles gold in WWE by Ronda Rousey.

On the last episode of SmackDown in 2022, both women locked horns for the then-known SmackDown Women’s title. Raquel gave the former UFC ace a run for her money, but ended up a tad short. Rousey just barely avoided an upset and kept her reign intact. Since then, Rodriguez hasn’t troubled a top women’s title holder on either Raw or SmackDown.

What could be Raquel Rodriguez’s role after her impending WWE return?

There’s not a date set in stone for Raquel Rodriguez‘s return. However, it should be soon. By the looks of it, when she does come back, she’ll remain on Raw. In all fairness, it’s quite imperative for WWE to not flirt with her positioning on the roster.

With there being a palpable paucity of female powerhouses on the red brand, Rodriguez can fill in those shoes quite naturally. Fans might even see the 143-pounder go after the Women’s World Championship.

If Rhea Ripley regains it from Liv Morgan anytime soon, Raquel could be an inevitable contender for the strap down the road. And a struggle for the top women’s prize on Raw between Raquel and Rhea would be worth it.
