Kansas City Chiefs star young wide receiver Rashee Rice still has the legal troubles from his March 30th car crash hanging around his neck. But that has not stopped the rookie champion from joining Patrick Mahomes and his other teammates in the offseason training program.

Rice posted a series of videos on his social media account of Instagram showing some route running drills he ran. This suggests that the Kansas City Chiefs receiver is preparing himself in the offseason ahead of the upcoming OTA programs.

Going through the paces with his star quarterback Patrick Mahomes will only go on to help him in the upcoming season. After all, who does not want to prepare themselves from another crack at the Super Bowl.

Rice still has to wait for the police investigation to come up with their conclusions to see if he will be charged further, a scenario where it is possible he would have to face trial. If sentenced, he could face up to 20 years behind bars. Effectively ending his career, even before it had a chance to properly take off. He even has to take care of the lawsuit filed by two of the victims of the car crash.

Rashee Rice and Patrick Mahomes could be the next best Chiefs duo

With superstar tight end Travis Kelce nearing the twilight of his career, the timing might be right for Rashee Rice to be the next best option. Patrick Mahomes loves his receivers, more so, if they have that chemistry with him to understand where he will plant the ball. Rice seems to have gained the trust of his superstar quarterback so far.

His record breaking 26 catches in the 2023 playoffs certainly point to that. More reps on the field can continue to build that chemistry. Therefore, once the future Hall of Famer tight end hangs up his cleats, Mahomes will have someone to bank on in their quest for more Super Bowls.

All of these scenarios currently depend on how the law takes its course. Hopefully, for the Kansas City Chiefs and Rashee Rice, he does not end up having to play flag football with prison inmates.
