This week’s Raw witnessed the anticipated but satisfying expulsion of Finn Balor from The Judgment Day. A ticked-off Dominik Mysterio, flanked by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, was in the ring to begin with. The current AAA Mega Champion lamented losing the Intercontinental Championship to Penta last week by pinning the entire blame on Balor. ‘The Prince’ soon made his way out alongside JD McDonagh.

After coming face-to-face with Mysterio, Balor admitted that ‘Dom’ would’ve still had the IC title if it wasn’t for him, so, for that, Finn was sorry. The latter, however, affirmed that he just wanted to teach a lesson to his stablemate about the need to fight one’s battles on their own, especially for someone having gigantic aspirations of being celebrated as the greatest Mysterio of all time.

That’s why Balor stopped McDonagh from handing over the bell hammer to Dominik Mysterio last week after ‘Dirty Dom’ asked for it. The former Bullet Club leader just wanted the San Diego native to win without their help.

Things started going south when Balor slightly changed his tone and said that the longer he’s been around ‘Dom’, it has made him realize that maybe his legendary father was right about his son all along—that he was a prick.

Mysterio shoved Balor, and that was it. ‘The Irish Captor’ turned around and faked removing his jacket only to catch ‘Dom’ with the Pele kick.

Balor was held back by JD McDonagh, who appeared to talk some sense into his compatriot, but to no avail as the inaugural Universal Champion flattened Mysterio with a Sling Blade. Just when Balor was lining ‘Dom’ up for the dropkick in the corner, ‘The Prince’ got clotheslined by McDonagh midway.

‘The Irish Ace’ also turned on his mentor and sided with the rest of the Judgment Day on Raw. The entire crew ganged up on Balor to make it a 4-on-1 assault on ‘Prince Devitt’. Mysterio brought a steel chair and the ring hammer. Balor managed to thwart the initial blows by kicking Mysterio in the face and back elbowing McDonagh.

The 44-year-old eventually fell to the ground after Mysterio connected with that bell hammer to his face. The former on-screen boyfriend of Rhea Ripley landed a 619 on a helpless Balor with the timekeeper’s hammer wedged into his shoe. ‘Dirty Dom’ then hit a frog splash on the veteran wrestler before nailing it one more time, but with the steel chair also adding to the damage on the second turn.

This beatdown officially ended Finn Balor‘s association with the Judgment Day, of which he was a part of for 1,372 days. The fans were delighted to see that unfold, as Balor’s exit from the faction means he can embark on a full-blown babyface run. There’s also chatter on social media regarding Balor awakening the demon to handle the numbers game and possibly taking on Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania 42.

What else happened on this week’s Raw?

Raw from Seattle kicked off with Adam Pearce inviting Seth Rollins for a chat. A masked figure appeared at ringside, and it was followed by a number of them swarming the ring.

They entered the ring and started scurrying around before exiting and leaving only one of them behind, who unmasked himself as Rollins. Pearce tried convincing ‘The Visionary’ to ditch this entire masked man shtick that he’s been on for the past month or so.

The Raw GM wanted the 6-time world champion to realize that he wouldn’t keep getting away from the Vision and that they will nab him one day or the other. Pearce wanted Rollins to know that it wasn’t ideal for him, as he just had a shoulder injury five months ago and he wasn’t even medically cleared to compete. Logan Paul and Austin Theory were out next, and they went off on ‘The Architect’.

It didn’t last long, as Rollins-backed masked men were back and ran circles around him once again to prevent him from getting jumped. After that, LA Knight came out to get his hands on the Vision but succumbed to the numbers game. The Usos saved Knight from total annihilation as they made light work of Paul and Theory to stand tall with ‘The Megastar’ on Raw.

In some women’s division action on Raw, Bayley won the Gauntlet match to earn the women’s IC title shot next week against AJ Lee. ‘The Role Model’ beat Ivy Nile and Asuka along the way, with Lyra Valkyria falling to Iyo Sky, and the latter being pinned by Nile after Raquel Rodriguez inflicted a beating on ‘The Genius of the Sky’ after being eliminated by her. Facing Bayley will be Lee’s first Raw match since 2015.

Penta retained his IC title against El Grande Americano after the OG El Grande Americano was seemingly ambushed backstage after getting cursed by Danhausen. Oba Femi tanked Rusev in a clash of the titans, and CM Punk had that intense promo segment with The Usos in the main event of Raw.

‘The Best in the World’ refused to apologize for his incendiary Roman Reigns’ father remark, leading to Punk getting punched in the face by Jimmy Uso.
