Fede Valverde adds to the number of absentees at Real Madrid
The likes of Sergio Ramos, Eden Hazard, Lucas Vazquez, Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy are all out injured currently. Zidane will have a headache in selecting his starting lineup for the Champions league match against Chelsea without the likes of Casemiro and Fede in midfield.
Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema are also recovering from a few knocks which they picked up in the 2nd leg against Liverpool in Anfield. Luka Modric has earned himself a well deserved rest in Real’s upcoming La Liga match against Cadiz.
“Real Madrid informs that our player, Fede Valverde, has tested positive in the Covid-19 test carried out today,” a brief statement from the Liga club read.
In the absence of the Uruguayan midfielder, Zidane has called up 2 Castilla midfielders in Arribas and Blanco with one of them likely to start in the Cadiz match.
