Recently suspended Draymond Green sighs at Patrick Beverley attacking female fan and reporter after Bucks loss
Patrick Beverley was engaged in disrespectful behavior twice during the Bucks loss.
Draymond Green and Patrick Beverley
There are quite a few players in the NBA known for their aggression on the court during games. These players make the headlines more for their antics than their performance. One of them is the Milwaukee Bucks’ Patrick Beverley, who recently has been in the news for his behavior during the Bucks’ first-round game against the Indiana Pacers.
Patrick Beverley was involved in an altercation with a Pacers fan and mistreated a reporter during the press conference on the same day. As many were upset by his behavior, an unexpected name joined in expressing disappointment towards Beverley. The Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green voiced his opinion on the topic during ‘The Draymond Green Show.’
It opens up an entirely different can of worms. Adam [Silver] going to have a problem on his hands with this one. It's about as close as you can get to going in the stands. That is forbidden for us.Draymond Green said
Green’s point was valid, however, stating something of such kind after getting suspended himself did not receive approval fans. The Warriors forward is also among the short list of aggressive players. From getting ejected to an indefinite suspension, Green has done it all during just one season this year.
Despite all that Green’s statement was right. Beverley’s behavior after losses displayed unsportsmanlike behavior. Altercation with players is one thing but hurting fans and disrespecting reporters for foolish reasons is unacceptable in the league. The Bucks guard is likely to get fined or suspended for the incidents.
ESPN has banned Patrick Beverley from future appearances
As the NBA has not officially announced any punishments for Beverley yet, ESPN decided to take matters into their own hands. The said reporter, Malinda Adams is a senior in the network which led ESPN to ban Pat Bev from any future appearances on the network.
Front Office Sports reported that Beverley will not be able to make guest appearances on studio shows like First Take and Get Up. A spokesperson from ESPN also stated Adams’ support.
Malinda is a well-respected colleague and a true professional. She has our full support. An ESPN spokesperson said
Adams did admit on X that Beverley and the Bucks organization apologized to her but fans will not overlook Beverley’s behavior just yet. Despite getting banned from the network, NBA fans and ESPN members are still upset by Beverley.
