Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark took on the Unholy Union, Alba Fyre, and Isla Dawn on the latest episode of Raw. Although they dominated the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions for most of the match, the ending solidified them as a team to not mess with.
Towards the end of the match, Fyre attacked the former NXT Women’s Champion’s injured knee. Although she stumbled, Shayna Baszler grabbed onto her opponent with a Kirifuda Clutch. The former MMA fighter continued to choke her out as they lay in the middle of the ring.
The 31-year-old refused to tap out to the submission but eventually passed out. The referee went to check on the female superstar, who was unable to keep her hand raised. Baszler maintained menacing eye contact with Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair throughout the duration of the submission hold. She, along with Stark, was declared the winner of the match due to a referee stoppage.
This bout came just a few days before these two teams will face off against Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair in a triple threat tag team match for the Women’s Tag Team Championship. The ending was clearly not a good sign for the Scottish tag team heading Clash at the Castle in their home country.
Shayna Baszler gets knocked out by Lola Vice at NXT Battleground
Shayna Baszler recently took on Lola Vice at NXT Battleground. The two former MMA stars appropriately fought at the UFC Apex in an NXT Underground match. The stipulation was similar to the 43-year-old’s match at SummerSlam 2023 against Ronda Rousey, meaning the match could only end in knockout or submission.
The NXT superstar sent Baszler crashing into the ring steps. As the Queen of Spades made her way inside the ring, she was the recipient of a spinning back fist. Vice jumped onto her opponent, raining down on her with punches.
The referee called for the bell, and Vice was declared the winner of the bout. To celebrate her victory, the 25-year-old twerked with Sexyy Red, the host of the show, in a backstage segment. Despite Baszler suffering a major loss, she looks very strong heading into her match at Scotland.
