Ja’Marr Chase is, without a doubt, one of the best wide receivers in the game. When a player of that stature goes up against arguably one of the most consistently good defensive backs in the game in Jalen Ramsey, some sparks are bound to fly.
The latter has had his fair share of battles throughout his 10-year long NFL career, which is why most receivers nowadays try not to engage with him in a battle of words.
In their Week 11 clash, it seems the Cincinnati Bengals’ wide receiver did not care about Ramsey’s reputation, and the two got into a battle of words.
Video clips show the Pittsburgh Steelers’ safety then using his left hand to grab Chase’s helmet and land a punch with his right. Now with both hands on the Bengals wideout’s helmet, Jalen Ramsey kept arguing with him.
Officials jumped in to separate them, and then tossed the Super Bowl champion safety out of the game. However, he was not done and continued sending choice words in Chase’s direction, and had to be pulled away by his teammates.

After the game, Ramsey revealed that the 25-year-old receiver spat on him, prompting him to respond, an allegation Chase denied, claiming he did not open his mouth.
Fans tear into Ja’Marr Chase for spitting at Jalen Ramsey
Soon after those claims, a video clip surfaced showing the incident. It clearly shows that the Pittsburgh Steelers star only responded after Ja’Marr Chase spat on his jersey.
Fans believe Ramsey was wrongfully tossed from the game, and now the NFL should investigate and hand the Bengals wideout a proper suspension and fine.
Many believe that was a cowardly move by Chase, which warranted such a response from the 7-time Pro Bowl defensive back. Check out examples of those reactions below:

The two-minute review from officials revealed that none of the referees saw Ja’Marr Chase spitting on Jalen Ramsey. Now that replays show the former committing the first act of disrespect, he should be getting a decent reprimand. The NFL does look into who or what caused a violent response.
Cam Heyward berates ‘classless’ Ja’Marr Chase for spitting on Jalen Ramsey
Many are already on Ja’Marr Chase’s case as they feel the wide receiver was the initial aggressor and should be suspended and fined for his disrespectful behavior. Steelers veteran Cam Heyward had a slightly harsher opinion.

Our guy got penalized, but if you’re going to spit on a guy, you don’t belong in the game. Hopefully, the NFL handles it.
Cam Heyward said to reporters
Mr. Pittsburgh added that he and his fellow teammates tried to calm Ramsey after the incident. However, he believes his teammate’s reaction was apt, especially when the opposing player spits.

The last time a spitting incident happened in the league, Dak Prescott got away from getting penalized for initiating the reaction from Jalen Carter after claiming he spat into the ground.
In this scenario, the league has all the necessary footage to prove that Chase was the one who not only initiated Ramsey’s reaction but also disrespected the latter.
