Revenge game? Malik Willis, who moved from Tennessee to Green Bay just few months ago, makes his opinion clear about facing Titans
Malik Willis will return to Tennessee to face the Titans for the first time since his move to Green Bay earlier this year making it a possible revenge game.

Malik Willis was shifted to the Green Bay Packers prior to the 2024 season kicking off after he lost the quarterback battle to Will Levis at the Tennessee Titans. Willis went from one backup job to another, but at Green Bay, he had a better chance of seeing more game time because the Packers cut the other two quarterbacks from their roster.
Fifth-year veteran, Jordan Love started the game against the Eagles in Brazil but did not finish it because of injury. The Packers turned to Willis, who only had a couple of weeks to learn Matt LaFleur’s playbook.
Love ended up on the injured reserve list, meaning he will miss at least the next four games, but there’s no set deadline for his return. Until then, Malik Willis will be the Packers’ starter.
The former third-round pick showed grit and won his first game in green and yellow by defeating the Indianapolis Colts in week 2. However, there’s an even bigger challenge ahead of him.
Does Malik Willis want to prove the Titans wrong, per se, if he starts Sunday?

“I could care less, bro. I think I got paid the whole time I was there. I’m more than blessed for the opportunity they’ve given me. They brought me into this league, whether those guys are there or… pic.twitter.com/0S26gyDvkp
At some point in his career, Willis had to face his former employers, but perhaps he did not think it would be as early as week 3. The Packers travel to Tennessee this Sunday to face the 0-2 Titans. Many are viewing this as a revenge game, but the 25-year-old has a different opinion. He only has fond memories from his time in the music city and the franchise that brought him to the NFL.
I could care less… I think I got paid the whole time I was there, [and] I’m more than blessed for the opportunity they’ve given me. They brought me into this league, whether those guys are there or not. That organization, they took a shot at me. Miss Amy [Adams], they (did a) great job by me, for all I’m concerned.Malik Willis told Packers beat writer Matt Schneidman.
Titans general manager revealed the reason behind Malik Willis’ departure
It did not happen for Willis in Tennessee, but that did not mean general manager Ran Carthon just gave up on the Liberty product. He found the best place for Willis to develop.
Carthon sat down with Jim Wyatt of Titans Online and discussed Malik Willis’ departure.
Malik earned the opportunity to have a chance to be the backup, whether it was here or someone else. He fought his ass off while he was here, and he's done everything we've asked him to do... When Green Bay [Packers] called, and we knew that Malik had the opportunity to be the backup, which we felt he deserved, it was about doing right by Malik and giving him that opportunity.Ran Carthon said.

The Titans sent Willis to the Packers in exchange for a seventh-round pick. If he can perform well at Green Bay, then perhaps another team that requires a starting quarterback would give him an opportunity because when Jordan Love is healthy, he will start games again owing to his recent contract.
