Rey Mysterio bans The New Day from Raw locker room [via- WWE]
A couple of weeks ago, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods crossed the line by doing the unthinkable. During The New Day’s ten-year anniversary celebration, the duo blatantly disrespected a returning Big E. Moreover, they ended up kicking the former WWE Champion out of the group. Kingston and Woods received repercussions for their actions, which was evident on the latest episode of Monday Night Raw.
In a backstage segment, Woods and Kingston tried to get inside the common men’s locker room. However, they were denied access to the room by none other than Rey Mysterio. The latter, termed as a ‘locker room leader,’ said that the wrestlers in the back wanted nothing to do with The New Day. Mysterio explained how everyone was not happy with how Big E was treated. Woods and Kingston left after the WWE Hall of Famer told them to change elsewhere.
Not only is The New Day hated backstage, but the former Tag Team Champions have also become public enemy #1. Last week, Woods and Kingston attempted to explain why they turned their backs on Big E. However, the crowd booed them so loudly that they could not speak. Minutes after the chorus of boos, the veterans decided to leave the ring.

The aforementioned segment could lead to a feud involving The New Day and LWO. A few months ago, Xavier Woods had issues with the faction after they got involved in their tag team title bout. Needless to say, fans are heavily invested in the storyline and can expect to see such segments in the coming weeks.
Possible directions for The New Day storyline
Since August, The New Day pair of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods has left fans on the edge of their seats. The unpredictability and compelling dynamic between the two had led to some of the best moments on WWE TV this year.
With that said, the former Tag Team Champions turning on Big E was a shocking sight to witness. A bond that fans thought could never break vanished in one night. The main reason behind the duo kicking Big E out was his inability to get cleared for in-ring action.
Taking that into account, there is a possibility that this could lead to the former WWE Champion proving his former friends wrong by returning at some point in the near future. Another direction for this storyline could see The New Day winning tag team gold yet again, proving they are doing well despite Big E’s absence.
