A hapless Rey Mysterio missed out on competing at this year’s WrestleMania due to a torn groin suffered on the last SmackDown before the big dance in Las Vegas. He would eventually undergo surgery in the meantime, which kept him away from the ring for over 6 months. The WWE Hall of Famer made his long-awaited return during this week’s edition of Raw.
The 50-year-old interrupted Dominik Mysterio after the latter proclaimed himself as the greatest luchador of all time. ‘Dom’ went a step ahead and asserted that there’s no man on this planet who could stop him. That’s when his legendary father’s music hit and sent the Rio Rancho crowd into a frenzy. ‘The Master of 619’ claimed that ‘Dirty Dom’ has insulted the Mysterio family and is an indictment on its name.

Rey Mysterio is back and he just interrupted his son, Dominik…

The WWE legend wondered if his outspoken son really thought he was better than great luchadores like El Santo, Blue Demon, and even Eddie Guerrero. ‘Dom’ hilariously swiped at his so-called deadbeat dad and asked him to keep his father Eddie’s name out of his mouth.
"You really think you're the greatest Luchador of all time, huh?"

The reigning Intercontinental Champion then affirmed that he was indeed ahead of all those names Rey mentioned, including the late great Eddie Guerrero. ‘Dom’ was baffled by the masked great excluding himself from that list and added that he was certainly better than him, too.

‘The Biggest Little Man in WWE’ ultimately told the Judgment Day member loud and clear that he would never be the greatest Mysterio as long as he’s around. After that much was said, both men dropped their mics, and ‘Dom’ turned around as if he were about to exit.
The latter’s cheap shot attempt got foiled, and he ended up getting hit with a 619. Dominik was successful in retreating before the WWE HOFer could do more damage.
Is Rey Mysterio on a collision course with his son en route to Survivor Series?
No one saw Rey Mysterio returning to WWE television last night. He not only did so but also oozed ruthlessness against his braggadocious son. What could one make out of their segment from Raw? While the ‘Master of 619’ didn’t demand a match against the 28-year-old, it’s definitely looking likely with the way things were said between the two.

WWE will be in San Diego later this month for Survivor Series. The father-son duo could produce magic in their hometown, as the local crowd will relish every bit of it. Things will start clearing up by next Monday. A previous report stated that WWE was planning for ‘Dom’ to defend his Intercontinental title against John Cena at Survivor Series.
‘The Franchise Player’ is coming to Raw in Boston next week to elaborate on his announcement of a 16-man tournament, which will decide his last match opponent for December 13. It’d be interesting to see if Cena gets into the crosshairs of ‘Dirty Dom’ or if the latter is slated to take on his father instead.
Dominik Mysterio upset over the lack of assistance from Judgment Day members during Rey Mysterio’s attack on Raw
After getting embarrassed by his father on Raw, a frustrated Dominik Mysterio confronted his Judgment Day stablemates in the clubhouse. The self-proclaimed ‘King of the Luchadores’ questioned Finn Balor and JD McDonagh about why they didn’t have his back out there. ‘The Prince’ came face-to-face with Mysterio and sarcastically informed him about how ‘Dom’ never invited them to his solo celebration.

Balor and McDonagh were due for a tag team title rematch against AJ Styles and Dragon Lee, so they exited, citing the urgency to bring some gold back to the Judgment Day clubhouse. After they went away, Roxanne Perez took ‘Dom’ aside and advised him to be at ringside for his buddies during their title match. When he questioned the motive, Perez said that someone had to be the bigger man.

And a side Talk between Roxanne Perez and Dominique reminded me of the old duo Liv Morgan and Dominik😩#WWERAW pic.twitter.com/38jZWoXWUa
‘The Prodigy’ suggested Mysterio go for it, as his gesture would ease things up between him and his Irish teammates, Balor & McDonagh. The IC Champion understood the assignment and proceeded to back his boys up. The fans made an interesting observation about Liv Morgan‘s picture in the background when Mysterio and Perez were having that conversation.
Liv Morgan is watching.
