Richard Gasquet writes “No words for this legend” sharing a post for Rafael Nadal
Rafael Nadal has achieved the unimaginable. He has won the La Coupe Des Mousquetaires 13 times at Roland Garros. Nadal now has 20 grand slams to his name, with hopes for more in the near future.
Nadal has been in the tennis circuit since his teenage days. Amongst the players he faced off during his teenage days, one was Richard Gasquet. The old rival, Gasquet, has shared a heartwarming post on Instagram for the fellow player Nadal after his 20th grand slam title.
Gasquet praises old pal
Gasquet and Rafael Nadal go way back to their childhood. They were 12 years old when they faced off at a tournament in Tarbes, but admitted the potential in his Spanish opponent, describing him as the “best in my age group”.
Gasquet wrote, “No words for this legend” as he referred to Rafael Nadal in a recent post. In the picture we see a young Gasquet and Nadal standing with arms around each other.
Their last face-off was at the French Open 2018, where Nadal defeated Gasquet in straight sets. He eventually won the tournament. Today, after playing 17 matches so far against Rafa, the Frenchman has won on just one occasion.
After years of battles on court, Gasquet did not shy away from praising Nadal after the Spaniard won 20 grand slams and 13 French Open titles. At present, Gasquet is playing at St. Petersburg. While Nadal is yet to confirm his participation in Vienna.
