Ricky Pearsall’s mother discloses brutal impact the bullet had on the WR’s chest barely missing his vital organs
Ricky Pearsall's mother, Erin, revealed that after her son was shot by a teenager at Union Square on Saturday, he was stable and later released from the hospital.

August 31, 2024, turned out to be one of the worst dates in Erin Pearsall’s life, as her son Ricky Pearsall was shot during an attempted robbery. The San Francisco 49ers rookie receiver ended up in the hospital, in critical condition.
Videos shortly after the incident showed medical staff helping Pearsall onto the ambulance. He was keeping pressure on the right half of his bloodied chest. San Francisco Mayor London Breed confirmed the shooting took place around the afternoon at Union Square.
Erin Pearsall later shared an update on her son’s condition.

According to the local SF police, the suspect was a 17-year-old boy from Tracy, CA, near San Joaquin County. They did not reveal his name, but he was also injured and admitted to the hospital.

Further investigation disclosed that Pearsall was in the area for a charity event to sign some autographs. The boy came up to him and tried to snatch the Rolex watch on his wrist, but the former Florida Gators wideout fought back.
He was shot in the chest and it exited out his back. Thanks be to GOD it missed his vital organs. He is in good spirits right now. Life is so precious, my friends. Please love each other. My son was spared today by the grace of GOD. Please pray for my baby.Erin Pearsall further wrote

49ers general manager John Lynch visited the first-round pick at SF General Hospital. Pearsall reportedly was stable.
Ricky Pearsall discharged from hospital
The prayers of Pearsall‘s well-wishers worked. A few hours into the hospital’s care, Matt Maiocco of NBC revealed that Ricky’s condition was much better than before.

Then around noon on September 1, the Athletic‘s David Lombardi posted that the hospital discharged Ricky Pearsall.

However, the current condition of Pearsall is unclear. He was already suffering from a sore shoulder that kept him out of the recent training camp. Moreover, there’s also no official confirmation about the course of action the 49ers will take regarding the first-year receiver.
