WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi found himself in a bit of trouble after his comments about his son Jey Uso‘s current storyline. He openly expressed his frustration over the former Bloodline member being pushed into a romantic storyline with Rhea Ripley. After receiving major backlash on his opinion from fans, he broke the silence about it on social media.

He took to X and issued a firm statement, saying that he simply spoke his mind and nothing more. A few days ago, Rikishi criticized WWE’s decision to push Jey Uso into a romantic angle with Rhea Ripley on his Off the Top podcast. Moreover, he claimed that such angles could even jeopardize his marriage.

Interestingly, he deleted the podcast after receiving significant backlash from the WWE Universe. Rikishi even advocated for his son to win a major title a few weeks ago. Despite being a babyface, the 38-year-old star hasn’t been able to win a major singles championship. In each of his title matches, interference has proven disastrous for him.

On the latest episode of Raw, he continued the storyline against his longtime rivals, Judgment Day. He saved his old friend and the current IC Champion, Sami Zayn, from their attack, which set up the tag team match in the main event. The babyface duo ended up winning the match with a Helluva Kick and a Uso Splash. However, their celebrations were cut short by Bron Breakker, who speared the champion.

Fans retaliated after Rikishi stood his ground regarding his comments on the angle between Jey Uso and Rhea Ripley

The WWE Universe once again left no chance to scrutinize Rikishi’s statements. Some fans sent their love to the entire Anoa’i family. Others reprimanded the Hall of Famer for taking the storyline too seriously, given his deep understanding of the business.

One fan pointed out that the same criticism applied to Ripley and Dominik, not just Jey. Another fan expressed a desire to see him alongside the new Tribal Chief, Solo Sikoa‘s Wiseman. Some fans agreed with the Hall of Famer’s sentiments and said that the 38-year-old star deserved a title run. Here are some of the top reactions from fans:
