Ever since Jey Uso‘s world title reign came to a halt on Raw this week, the fans were anticipating a meltdown from his father. And it’s finally here. Rikishi, a WWE Hall of Famer in his own right, has broken silence on the run his son had that merely lasted 51 days. Speaking on his Off the Top podcast, The Samoan Stinker called for those WWE writers to be fired who were coming up with stuff primarily for Uso.

Rikishi alluded to the incompetency of the creative team for failing to feed The Yeet Master with some credible opponents to make his title reign newsworthy. The former Too Cool member brought up Gunther‘s name and said he doesn’t have any beef with him at all. He also wished WWE good luck with the decision it has made by taking the title belt off Uso and putting it on The Ring General.

You didn’t do him justice………..so you go 51 days. I’d say fire…fire those that are writing for this kid here…..

Rikishi underscored that his son had been a leading merchandise seller for the company and was making the company the most money. Speaking of WrestleMania 41, the Anoa’i family member reaffirmed how Uso had the entire Allegiant Stadium “yeeting” at the top of their lungs.

Rikishi also mentioned at one point that WWE has something against The Yeet Master for making his singles title reigns extremely short. The Samoan Stinker turned the clock back on Uso’s 27-day Intercontinental title reign from last year. Rikishi then questioned if WWE would’ve done that to someone with the billing of Randy Orton and John Cena.

Real reason behind WWE deciding to take the world title off of Jey Uso

Out of all the possible outcomes from Jey Uso’s world title defense against Gunther, a title change was the least expected one. However, that’s exactly what happened. The Austrian shocked the world by making the San Francisco native pass out to the sleeper hold. In an update from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that WWE CCO Triple H made the call to strip the belt off Uso.

The Game pushed for it so that he could book Goldberg‘s retirement match against Gunther with the World Heavyweight Championship up for grabs. It’s expected to go down at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12 in Atlanta. Moreover, the build to it is expected to begin in full force from this week’s Raw itself.

The Icon is slated for a surprise appearance on the show and, in all likelihood, will confront The Ring General. They were involved in a heated segment at Bad Blood last October, where Gunther passed on inflammatory remarks about the WWE Hall of Famer in front of his wife and son.

Goldberg hasn’t responded to the Vienna-born wrestler directly to his face since that moment but will have the opportunity to do so soon enough.

Jey Uso will compete in the King of the Ring tournament

For those wondering if Jey Uso will be relegated to the tag team division once again, it might not happen right away. As per Raw GM Adam Pearce, the former Right Hand Man of Roman Reigns will compete in the King of the Ring tournament.

He has joined Rusev, “Big” Bronson Reed, and Sheamus in a first-round KOTR Fatal 4-Way match slated to happen on Raw this Monday. WWE had kept the spot open and was promoting it as a mystery entrant. However, with Uso filling that vacancy, the netizens have deemed it a letdown.

Moreover, with his addition, the 39-year-old could already be considered as one of the favorites to advance to the semifinals of the ongoing tournament. If he does become the 2025 King of the Ring winner at Night of Champions, Uso would challenge for the World Heavyweight title once again at SummerSlam.
