Jey Uso is probably the most popular superstar in WWE right now. However, he hasn’t been able to make a significant impact during his singles run. The Yeet Man secured a major victory over his brother, Jimmy Uso, at WrestleMania XL, but the fan reception was less than enthusiastic. As of late, his father, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, has expressed concern about his creative direction in the company.
While speaking on his podcast Off The Top, Rikishi continued to express frustration over WWE’s booking of Jey Uso. The Hall of Famer couldn’t understand why his son hadn’t won the Money in the Bank match or held a title till this point. He stated that the 39-year-old star had organically risen through the ranks with the fans’ love and support and should live up to his moniker.
Rikishi further added that the entire WWE Universe knew Jey was a main-event player. He even suggested that the former Bloodline member should leave WWE and join rival promotion, AEW, instead. Recently, the Samoan Stinker expressed his disappointment over the potential love angle between Jey and Rhea Ripley. Mami even wished him a happy birthday, signaling that WWE might proceed with this storyline.
We already know, the kid is so good. WWE ain't the only spot. He could probably go to AEW if he wanted to write his own ticket, maybe more than what WWE's making on him.Rikishi on Off The Top podcast
On last week’s episode of Raw, Jey announced that he would be participating in the I.C. Title tournament. Bron Breakker won the title from Sami Zayn at SummerSlam and has a strong hold on it. Needless to say, the WWE Universe will support him every step of the way in his quest to win a singles title. Only time will tell what the future holds for the Yeet Master.
Jey Uso admitted being unprofessional for breaking character numerous times on TV
It wouldn’t be hard to argue for the case of Jey Uso being one of the funniest superstars in WWE right now. The WWE Universe finds his way of talking and his mannerisms hilarious. There have been many instances where the 39-year-old star couldn’t help but break character, even when the cameras are on.
He appeared at Fanatics Fest in New York City, where he addressed his issue of laughing on live TV. Jey said that he didn’t like watching clips of himself laughing, but he also admitted that he failed to resist it a couple of times. The former Bloodline member even called himself unprofessional for not taking it seriously.
I don’t like watching it back. There were a couple of times where I was laughing on TV every week and then I started thinking to myself, ‘I’m being unprofessional, I think.' I couldn’t help it because when we’re doing the shots, we’re doing them live.Jey Uso at the Fanatics Fest event
One of his most infamous giggles came when Zayn told Roman Reigns that he wasn’t feeling very ‘Ucey.’ The smirk was visible on his face, and the Original Tribal Chief also broke character along with him. Another instance came during Reigns’ rivalry with Brock Lesnar. When the latter tried to destroy the truck The Bloodline was sitting in, the camera captured him trying to hide his laugh, which continued throughout the whole segment.
