2025 might turn out to be the year for comebacks. Earlier this year, Colin Kaepernick hinted at a return to the NFL, and now Robert Griffin III threw his name in the mix.
Video footage revealed that RG3 is pushing himself in private workout sessions and seems to be in great shape. He also added a message in the video addressed to the NFL teams. Robert Griffin III’s voice can be heard narrating in the footage:
I don’t care who is doing better than me [because] I am not in competition with anyone else. The only rival I have is the person I was yesterday. Last year I was different. I have grown, I have learned, I have improved, and that’s what truly matters.
RG3 is only 35 and can easily take another swing at the NFL. However, there are doubts about the footage. It’s hard to deduce whether it was shot recently or not. On top of it, the video was shared from a third-party X account and by Griffin.

RG3 hung up his boots in 2020 after backing up Lamar Jackson for a few years. He appeared only in a handful of games for the AFC North side in Jackson’s absence.
Before the Ravens, Griffin had a one-year stint with the Cleveland Browns. He played five games and lost four of them before entering free agency.
The Washington Commanders introduced the NFL to Griffin in 2012. They selected the Baylor graduate second overall and handed him the starting quarterback job. He threw 258 completions for 3200 yards, 20 touchdowns, and only 5 picks in his rookie season, along with rushing 120 times for 815 yards and seven rushing touchdowns.
The Commanders landed a gold mine. However, a concussion in 2015 derailed his career in the capital. His backup, Kirk Cousins, took over and made the starting quarterback position his, and the following year, the Commanders released RG3.
Griffin started 42 games in the NFL with a win-loss record of 16-26.
The ex-Heisman Trophy winner tried his hand at TV work after retirement. He signed a multi-year contract with ESPN as a college football expert. Griffin later replaced Randy Moss on Monday Night Football Countdown in 2022. However, two years later, ESPN replaced Griffin with Jason Kelce.
RG3 currently hosts his podcast, RG3 and the One. He is also in talks with FOX Network to join the crew as a matchday announcer.
Robert Griffin III offers advice to the New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints are in danger of recording back-to-back losing seasons, even though analyst Warren Sharp claimed the NFC South club has the third-easiest schedule in 2025.

Derek Carr’s sudden retirement opened up a vacancy in the starting quarterback position. At present, there are three QBs in the Saints locker room: Jake Haener, Spence Rattler, and rookie Tyler Shough.
Shough is favored to start in week one, but RG3 wants the Saints brass to call free agent Aaron Rodgers.
The New Orleans Saints need to call Aaron Rodgers for: Alvin Kamara. Cam Jordan. Brandin Cooks. Justin Reid. Tyrann Mathieu. Demario Davis. They don’t have much time left. They don’t have time to go through a rebuild. They don’t have time to wait and see if a guy can get it done. Bring in a vet or trade them.

Rodgers is linked with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the Saints are undeniably a more desirable team. They play in a comparatively weaker division than the Steelers and inside a dome. It will not surprise anyone that soon-to-be 42 Rodgers dons the black and gold instead of the black and yellow in 2025.
