As much as fans and the New York Jets themselves are hoping for a slow start to gain the pace gradually in the upcoming 2024 NFL season, their schedule with six primetime games in the first eleven weeks does not allow them that. This means, the team needs to be prepared for the tests and if qualifying for the playoffs is their aim, they cannot repeat the mistake of last season.

The moment when things collapsed for the Jets was when star quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles injury, which kept him out for the entire season. Although he is recovered and ready for the comeback, fans fear the quarterback might not be fully recovered.

Speaking of which, head coach Robert Saleh addressed the topic of Rodgers’ health, saying he has “no limitations” so far, highlighting how active the former NFL MVP has been throughout the offseason, and fully recorded as the organized team activities set to begin on Tuesday, via Jets’ video.

The arm talent is obviously still there. It's really just reacclimating to everything.

Saleh also claimed that “he is doing everything” that the Jets expected from him and heading into the OTAs this week, the star quarterback is prepared to bounce back.

Aaron Rodgers aside, the Jets aiming high with offensive line reinvention

This offseason, the Jets’ focus has been to make sure not to repeat the 2023 season, where they were the first team to be eliminated from the playoff race. They signed eight-time Pro Bowler offensive tackle Tyron Smith and drafted Olumuyiwa Fashanu using their 11th pick.

The Jets' overhauled offensive line will play a large role in making fans' dreams a reality. Then maybe we can start talking about the Jets ending their long playoff drought, or even contending for a championship.

On top of that, quarterback Rodgers has been focused on regaining his old elite form back and leading the Jets to glory. That’s something they expected from him upon the trade with the Green Bay Packers.
