Music has always been an integral part of Rockstar’s flagship series, GTA 5. Red Dead Redemption 2 also has its fair share of melodies. Last month, Rockstar launched its own music record label. This not only means good news for the company but also for GTA 5 players. This article will cover all you need to know about CircoLoco Records, Rockstar Games’ own record label.

Rockstar Games launches their own record label:
May 24th 2021 was the date of the announcement of CircoLoco Records, Rockstar Games’ very own record label. The announcement came in the form of a video released by Rockstar Games on their own Youtube Channel and a Newswire Post. The genre of the music published in this record label seems to be underground Trance, Techno and House music. These are often the genres played in Nightclubs around Los Santos in GTA 5 and also the dominant genre in the Music Locker in-game.
The video released by Rockstar shows clips from the After Hours trailer and the Music Locker reveal trailer, along with some live action clips of people raving to a billboard that displays the CircoLoco records logo. The overall scene seems to be similar to that portrayed in GTA 5.
The DJs or producers featured in the record label are often the Nightclub or Music Locker resident DJs including Dixon, Tale of Us and Moodyman along with a few underground trance producers. The first track dropped on the 4th of June featuring a mix of various producers like Seth Troxler and Kerri Chandler.
This is the first time a video game studio the size of Rockstar is getting into the mainstream industry. This not only means increased profits but also more media attention and publicity among the mainstream audience. This way, gaming as a hobby can also expand attracting more and more non-gamers to play games. This also means that now Rockstar can have improved quality and quantity of music in the upcoming updates, the expanded and enhanced version of GTA 5 and even maybe the most awaited GTA 6 title.
