IPL 2021: WATCH – Rohit Sharma hits a 95-meter six off Kagiso Rabada’s bowling

Mumbai Indians (MI) faced Delhi Capitals (DC) today and got off to a brisk start despite losing Quinton de Kock early. A lot of credit for that was due to skipper Rohit Sharma‘s brisk innings that saw him put the pressure back on the DC bowlers who were looking threatening. Although it all went awry after his dismissal, Rohit’s innings was one that exemplified class and skill on a difficult pitch to bat on.
Earlier, DC’s plan to open the bowling with Marcus Stoinis worked as he got the wicket of de Kock in his second over. It was then that Suryakumar Yadav joined Rohit and the two were involved in a lively partnership. Rohit kept going for the big shots regularly while Surya was his useful self. After the duo’s dismissals, there was a mini-collapse with the Pandya brothers and Kieron Pollard falling in quick succession.
Watch – Rohit Sharma’s huge six off Kagiso Rabada
In the 5th over of DC’s innings, Suryakumar and Rohit decided to up the ante with some flashy strokes. After the former hit a four past third man, Rohit played an authoritative shot that stunned everybody on the field. Off the fifth ball, he lofted Rabada beautifully by backing away and then lifting him over long-off for a six. The huge hit travelled a total of 95 meters and it showed that danger was beckoning for DC.
However, DC bounced back stupendously well through the spinners Amit Mishra and Lalit Yadav as they picked up regular wickets to put MI under pressure and in deep trouble.
