Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes shared the stage at The Game Awards Show in Los Angeles. They were featured with the rest of the Street Fighter cast, who had come together to reveal how their characters would look in the live-action martial arts film directed by Kitao Sakurai.
Raw commentator Joe Tessitore was also there to do the introductions. As is known, Reigns is playing the role of villain Akuma, while Rhodes is Guile, a pilot in the US Air Force. The movie is set for an October 2026 release, and the WWE fans, in particular, will get to see two of their most fierce in-ring rivals share the big screen.

However, it’d be interesting to see if they do share an actual scene at any point in the movie when it does hit the theaters. ‘The OTC’ took some time off from WWE after beating Bronson Reed at Clash in Paris to film his part in the movie. Rhodes, on the other hand, was written off from WWE TV at the hands of Drew McIntyre so that he could film too.
Both the WWE stars starring in Street Fighter caught up with Jason Momoa at the Game Awards Show backstage. Reigns even posed for a picture with Momoa. The two of them have quite an amusing dynamic, as their fans often deem them as each other’s lookalikes, which one can decide for themselves by looking at the picture above.

Does WWE plan on holding another marquee match between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes?
In their most recent WWE outing together, Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes ended up on a losing side, which, in itself, sounds odd. They were part of the same WarGames team, also comprising The Usos and CM Punk, who got pinned by Bron Breakker after a black-hooded mystery assailant ambushed him out of nowhere. After the match was over, Reigns and Rhodes came face-to-face.

‘The Tribal Chief’ was heard telling ‘The American Nightmare’ that it was their last time teaming up and it wouldn’t happen again. In the immediate aftermath of the show, several fans drew a conclusion that WWE made Reigns say that to Rhodes’ face to hint at their potential rematch in the near future.
In fact, a report from Dave Meltzer noted that Reigns vs. Rhodes part lll was indeed on the table as one of the main events at WrestleMania 42. However, a follow-up report by Meltzer via WON clarified that even though these men are penciled to wrestle each other, it might not necessarily happen as early as next year’s WrestleMania.
A WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns is planned, but it might not necessarily be at WrestleMania:

It’s been confirmed to us that a Rhodes vs. Reigns match for the WWE title is in the plans, although not necessarily at WrestleMania.

With the ongoing uncertainty about Seth Rollins making it back in time for Mania, WWE hasn’t seemingly locked in its top matches yet. There are talks of making Rollins go after Bron Breakker for the World Heavyweight title if ‘The Visionary’ does get the medical clearance way ahead of the two-night spectacle in Vegas. In that case, WWE could consider putting on a singles match between Roman Reigns and CM Punk.
It would free Rhodes up to defend his Undisputed WWE title against someone else assuming he’d be the champion until then. Things will clear up after the Royal Rumble. As of now, Breakker is the leading favorite to oust the field in Riyadh on January 31. But before that, he’s scheduled to face Punk for the world title on the January 5 edition of Raw.
