After THQ’s bankruptcy, Take-Two Interactive’s 2K acquired the rights to WWE games, beginning with WWE 2K14. Since then, the series has enjoyed mixed success but remains a favorite among gamers worldwide. With WWE 2K25 on the horizon, the promotion recently shared exciting updates about the game, including news involving Roman Reigns.

The latest episode of Raw featured Paul Heyman cutting a promo in front of the live crowd, officially announcing that Roman Reigns would be the cover star of WWE 2K25. The former WWE Undisputed Champion reacted to this news on his X account. He also posted a cover photo of the game’s ‘Bloodline Edition.’

Furthermore, he said that he would always keep his Bloodline with him, tagging The Usos, Sami Zayn, and his Wiseman in the post. In fact, the 59-year-old can also be seen on the poster in the background.

Heyman further said that Reigns had done everything he set out to do since his return, including winning back the Ula Fala. Now, he was coming back for his title, beginning February 1st. The 39-year-old had already declared for the Royal Rumble, and he was going to win the 30-man match to get back his title, no matter who he had to fight.

Wherever I go, I will make sure my Bloodline is with me.

Reigns is arguably the most recognizable face in WWE today and a proven merchandise powerhouse. When the OTC returned to WWE at SummerSlam 2024, he sold over $800,000 worth of merchandise in just two hours. Featuring him on the cover of WWE 2K25 could significantly boost both sales and branding for the game.

Paul Heyman reveals the origins of “The Tribal Chief” nickname for Roman Reigns

During a recent appearance on Impaulsive, Paul Heyman revealed how Roman Reigns’ Tribal Chief nickname came about. The Hall of Famer said that there was a time when he was known as Brock Lesnar‘s advocate. Meanwhile, the 39-year-old was known as “The Big Dog.” They knew both these identities needed to be changed.

Thus, during the final few seconds of an episode of SmackDown, Reigns and Heyman said each other’s catchphrases as the show went off the air. This signaled the beginning of their partnership. Within the next week, the erstwhile Big Dog was assigned the nicknames ‘Tribal Chief’ and ‘Head of the Table’. Another 48 hours later, they had already put the title on him.

We named him the ‘Tribal Chief.’ We named him the ‘Head of the Table,’ and he had the title on him 48 hours later. I can’t tell you that’s not the moment, because the whole WWE universe at that moment shifted. That was the moment that completely changed everything.

Heyman had recently revealed in another interview that The Bloodline story came about from Reigns’ frustration with his creative direction at the moment. Thankfully, this led to the creation of one of, if not the best, storylines in WWE history with the Hall of Famer’s brain behind it.
