The Wild Samoans were one of the most famous tag teams of their era. They were brothers in real life and part of Samoan lineage. They wrestled all over the world and won more than 20 tag team championships throughout their career. Unfortunately, with the recent passing away of Afa Anoa’i, Roman Reigns made a heartfelt post in his honor.

The OTC made a post on X a few hours before the latest episode of SmackDown. He informed the wrestling audience that his family had suffered a huge loss after the passing away of his uncle and Hall of Famer, Afa Anoa’i. This news comes just two months after the passing of his tag team partner and Reigns’ father, Sika Anoa’i. The 39-year-old had made a highly emotional post shortly following the passing of his father. He found solace in the fact that the two brothers had reunited in heaven.

The Hall of Famer’s son, Samu, confirmed the passing of his father at the age of 81 with a post on Facebook. He assured the wrestling world that it was a “peaceful transition,” and he was surrounded by his family throughout. He asked the fans to respect the privacy of the family as they mourn their loved one.

Both Afa and Sika have been on WWE TV multiple times, with their most recent appearance being in 2020. They made an appearance at the Hell in a Cell PLE in 2020 to celebrate Reigns retaining his Universal Championship against Jey Uso.

WWE intentionally kept Matt Riddle away from Roman Reigns

Disputes between professional wrestlers are quite common in the industry. These superstars temporarily keep their differences aside to put on a show for the audiences regardless of how they feel. However, sometimes, the promotion has to intervene to ensure peace in the locker room. The same thing happened between Matt Riddle and Roman Reigns.

Speaking on his show, The Wrestling Matt, Matt Camp revealed some details about an August 2021 edition of WWE’s The Bump. The show usually features an interaction between a guest in the studio and a guest joining them through a video call. However, this show featured a video interview with Reigns, and Matt Riddle was called on only after the Tribal Chief’s interview had concluded.

This was allegedly done due to some friction between these two superstars. Funnily enough, Riddle said something offensive about Reigns in an interview shortly after this incident, including that he could beat up the Samoan in a real-life fight.

Riddle went and said something dumb about Roman right after that in another interview, like right after that. And I think that’s when he told the story about writing a letter to Roman apologizing and Randy Orton told him to do it.

After these comments, he wrote an apology to the former WWE Undisputed Champion after Randy Orton asked him to do so. Regardless of these differences, these superstars worked together and had a match for the WWE Undisputed Championship in June 2022 on an episode of SmackDown.
