For the first time since WrestleMania, Roman Reigns appeared on SmackDown. The ‘Original’ Tribal Chief made his triumphant return at SummerSlam, laying out Solo Sikoa in the main event. The latter arrived in vengeance mode and looked to take down his former leader. Sikoa, flanked by Tonga Loa and Tama Tonga, called out Reigns in the final segment of the show.
Immediately, the former Undisputed WWE Champion showed up and set his sights on his cousin. The Tongans tried to intercept Reigns but failed miserably. Further, The Head of the Table got his hands on Sikoa. Before he could Spear him, Tama made the save and allowed his leader to retreat. Once again, Reigns fought back with ease against the remaining duo.
The Needle Mover delivered a ruthless Spear to Loa in the ring, followed by another brutal one to Tama through barricade. The onslaught didn’t end as Reigns annihilated Loa with repeated steel chair shots. Following this bold statement, the 39-year-old looked straight at Solo Sikoa, who stood on the ramp with the Ula Fala.
During the beatdown, Roman Reigns momentarily held the symbolic necklace in his hands. Without doubt, the crowd is firmly behind the former Shield member, as he has started off his babyface run with a bang. Hence, only time will tell how the next chapter of The Bloodline saga unfolds in the coming weeks.
Roman Reigns face-off with Jacob Fatu delayed after latter misses SmackDown due to injury
Needless to say, Roman Reigns easily handled the threat of the new version of The Bloodline on SmackDown. However, there was a notable absence from the faction this week. Jacob Fatu, who suffered an injury at SummerSlam, did not accompany his Tribal Chief.
Since his arrival in WWE, Fatu has impressed fans with his work ethic and in-ring skills. In fact, many felt that he was the missing puzzle in the new Solo Sikoa-led Bloodline. Therefore, the WWE Universe speculated on a potential showdown between the former MLW star and Reigns. At SummerSlam, Fatu seemingly hurt his knee while diving through Cody Rhodes on the announce table.
After the match, he was spotted wearing a foot brace, with rumors of a possible injury making the rounds online. In addition to that, others felt that WWE intentionally sidelined the Samoan Werewolf to generate buzz for an eventual faceoff. Nonetheless, fans will have to wait and see when WWE pulls the trigger on the moment.
