Roman Reigns is turning 41 this May, almost a month after competing in his record-setting eleventh WrestleMania main event. Last year before the Show of Shows, Reigns revealed in a Vanity Fair profile that his current WWE contract will expire after WrestleMania 42. The fans could expect him to continue wrestling for a year or two at max after that, said Reigns back then.

It seems like the 6-time world champion has changed his mind a little since that point. ‘The Tribal Chief’ recently joined Nico Leonard for a nearly hour-long conversation. When asked what he has left to offer in WWE, Reigns responded by saying, “There’s still a little more juice to squeeze.” ‘The OTC’ asserted that he’s almost on the back end of his in-ring career but not quite just yet.

Reigns put emphasis on how the evolution of sports science and nutrition has elongated careers since these factors came into play. He sees his time in wrestling pretty much how most of the veterans in this industry have done. It’s all about grinding in the early stages to put oneself on the map and getting over with the audience.

After having done that for a certain amount of time, the equity of calling the shots on their own kicks in. That’s what Roman Reigns is all about these days. He also talked about stepping into a whole different ballpark in terms of making money in this business after attaining a level of superstardom.

‘The OTC’ affirmed that he’s not going to leave the park right now and would want to double down on cashing in as much money as he possibly could. From a creative standpoint, the ‘Head of the Table’ firmly believes that he still has a lot left to do. He’s set to challenge CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania this weekend.

Reigns has repeatedly mocked Punk and disregarded him for being old over the last month or so. ‘The Best in the World’ has, in turn, countered Reigns’ scorn for him by calling him boring and downplaying his store-bought wrestling tools.

They will be under the same roof this Monday on Raw one final time before taking center stage in Las Vegas. Reigns will have a special message to deliver to Punk on Raw as revealed by GM Adam Pearce.

Roman Reigns says WWE has no real competition in the wrestling business

In the aforementioned chat, Roman Reigns outright stated that there’s no true competition for WWE. He did say that there are other wrestling promotions for one to work in, but they need to get to WWE for them to be considered at the tippy-top of the mountain. Taking his own case as an instance, Reigns said he has achieved everything one could dream of in WWE.

However, he still is the company’s top star and has the stroke to dictate the main event scene, which is the beauty of proving one’s worth in WWE. The former Bloodline leader underscored that there are ways to tell the audience that they haven’t seen everything out of a wrestler just when the fans start thinking they have. Speaking of if he ever gets the ick for continuing wrestling, he does sometimes.

But that feeling suddenly disappears once that content sickness kicks in about him not being able to come to terms with hanging up the boots for good just now. Roman Reigns said that he’s very happy with his work over the past few years and he could hang his hat on that but feels like he still has more to offer. Not that long ago, the Pensacola native slammed the star-making machine of WWE.

He called out the paucity of a lot of other talent across the board not being able to get their shtick over with the fans. Reigns also claimed that WWE hasn’t evolved creatively in the past couple of years, which was the period of him not holding championship gold in the company.

Circling back to his comments in the interview stated above, Reigns said that even though there’s not a single accolade left for him to win in wrestling, he could still take a championship, put it around his waist, and showcase what happens when it’s in the right hands. The fans have gotten the impression that Roman Reigns’ chances of beating CM Punk at WrestleMania might’ve just doubled after those sorts of comments.
