Roman Reigns is widely regarded as the wrestler who saved professional wrestling during the pandemic. His legendary run as the Tribal Chief of The Bloodline gave WWE the headstart that it needed during the time, allowing the promotion to be the hottest it has been since the Attitude Era. The 39-year-old recently returned to WWE at SummerSlam, and once again proved why is he one of, if not the biggest draw in the company right now.

Shortly after Reigns made his much-anticipated return at SummerSlam, the company listed new merchandise on the WWE shop. One of these items was a customized WWE Undisputed Championship belt. The belt featured a unique red hue and was autographed by the OTC himself. Fans could also get custom straps on their title.

The company only kept 1316 of these belts, representing the number of days of his historic title reign. Each of these belts cost $600, representing a total amount of $789,600. All of these championship belts were sold out within two hours of being listed in the store.

Reigns created roughly $800,000 in revenue for the company through merchandise sales in less than two hours of his return. What is even more staggering is that this number doesn’t even include the sales from the new OTC merch, comprising hoodies, T-shirts, and tank tops. Sales from all the new merchandise likely went well past the million-dollar mark.
