The Rated-R Superstar has made it clear that he is going after the Universal title at Wrestlemania 37. The current Champion took to Twitter to respond to the attack. Reigns issued a stern warning to Edge and reminded him that he is still the ‘Head of the Table’.
Since Edge had won the 2021 Royal Rumble, he hadn’t revealed that which WWE title he will be going after. He had warned all the current 3 Champions- Reigns, Drew McIntyre and Finn Balor, that he could go after them. After weeks of speculation, Edge finally revealed that he will be fighting Roman Reigns at the Showcase of the Immortals.
After the attack, Edge took to Twitter to hype up his match against Reigns for the Universal title. Reigns responded to the tweet by claiming that after their match at Wrestlemania, Edge would refer to him as “My Tribal Chief”.
Reigns managed to retain his title at Elimination Chamber
WWE Elimination Chamber started with No.1 Contender’s match for the Universal title inside the Chamber. Six superstars from Smackdown participated in the match, and Daniel Bryan emerged victorious from the brutal bout.
Right after he won, Reigns walked out for the Universal Championship match. Despite being injured, Bryan agreed to the match. He tried to apply a submission lock as soon as the match began. But Reigns managed to get out of it and apply the guillotine choke. Bryan passed out and the referee ended the match.
Roman Reigns will now be defending his title at Wrestlemania. The biggest PPV of the year airs live on 10th and 11th April, 2021.
