Brazilian legend Ronaldinho scored a breathtaking free-kick to showcase his skills during an exhibition match between Barcelona and Real Madrid legends at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha. The legends El Clasico encounter ended with a scoreline of 2-2.
The match featured several prominent players, including Ronaldinho, Luis Figo, Clarence Seedorf, David Villa, and Patrick Kluivert. Barcelona took an early lead into the match through Juan Pablo Sorin’s goal. 15 minutes into the first half, Ronaldinho doubled the Catalan legends’ lead with a free-kick. However, they could not hold on to their lead, as goals from Figo and Edwin Congo allowed Los Blancos to jump back into the match.
Barcelona later emerged winners in the penalty shootout, as the score ended 4-2. Ronaldinho’s 15th-minute brilliant free-kick was the highlight of the match, as the 44-year-old put the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the box. With just two steps, the Brazilian maestro curled the ball over the wall into the top corner, leaving goalkeeper Francisco Buyo clueless.
Celebrating his goal, the 2002 World Cup winner opened his arms to emulate his iconic gesture. Apart from the goal, Ronaldinho also showed flashes of his exquisite skills, as he teamed up with Rivaldo on several occasions.

Brazilian legend Ronaldinho names three players, he considers level with Lionel Messi in the GOAT debate
Ronaldinho does share a great bond with Lionel Messi, owing to their experiences playing together at FC Barcelona. The 44-year-old, however, refuted labeling the Argentine as the ‘greatest player of all time’, instead stating that he is on par with three others in the all-time great category.
Ronaldinho did agree that Messi is the best player of this era and does have a claim over the GOAT title following his eight Ballon d’Or wins. However, he named three players on par with the Argentinian star. Firstly, he chose his former Brazilian teammate Ronaldo Nazario, who he played alongside with between 1999 and 2006. The other two players he named were Pele and Diego Maradona.
Interestingly, Ronaldinho omitted Portuguese star and five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo’s name from his greatest footballer picks. Some fans found this irksome, as they shared their responses on social media.
