Nina Westbrook defends husband, Russell Westbrook in lame Lamar Jackson comparison
Russell Westbrook has been one of the most polarizing figures in the NBA, as he has as many admirers as detractors. Recently former NFL safety Ryan Clark made a rather lame comparison between him and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson on an episode of ESPN’s Get Up.
As a result, Nina Westbrook, wife of the Nuggets star, wasn’t going to let him get away with it so easily. She left a comment on the post made by ESPN where she expressed her disappointment that her husband is being slandered even before the new season has begun.
My goodness! Just as a basketball fan, we couldn’t even wait for the NBA season to start up before the Russell slander begins?… before you start hating on Russell, at least let the basketball season start and let him miss a layup or something first. I’m still enjoying the peace and the silence.Nina Westbrook wrote on Instagram
Despite being a two-time scoring champion, nine-time NBA All-Star and All-NBA player, he has yet to taste the thrill of winning an NBA trophy. He now has the chance to do that with his move to the Denver Nuggets, who are among the favorites to get to the NBA Finals.
However, he might not be the player who terrorized defenses and lightened up arenas but what he can bring to the Nuggets is his war chest of experience. He has averaged 21.7 points, 8.1 assists, and 7.1 rebounds per game in his 16 seasons in the NBA.
LeBron James’ youngest son, Bryce hypes up Russell Westbrook
He might be too young to have witnessed a prime Russell Westbrook but when asked to name his top five players of all time, Bryce James made sure the Denver Nuggets star was included in his list. Also on his top five were his father, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan.
Westbrook was destined to take the next in his career when he joined the Los Angeles Lakers but things didn’t exactly go as planned as he felt the wrath of fans and analysts alike during that ill-fated move. His time at the Clippers wasn’t so bad in his bit-part role.
Last season saw him average 11.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game for the Clippers. His first game for his new team comes against the team he made his name at, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
