The past two seasons, Russell Westbrook either had offers on his table or had already signed with a team. This time around, he is still waiting to see what colors he will sport next season.

Many felt the former league MVP had done enough with his time at the Los Angeles Clippers to rebuild his reputation. Many had cast him away as a fast-deteriorating player, but he showed them he can still contribute off the bench.

He followed the same methodology with the Denver Nuggets and was instrumental in helping them rise up the Western Conference ladder. However, there were rumors that his teammates were not happy with his attitude.

Even his preferential treatment was cited as a reason for the dismissal of former head coach Michael Malone. All of that might have factored in when he declined his player option for next season.

Even though it has been about 2 months, the 36-year-old has yet to sign with his next team. Since his family is settled in Los Angeles, the California native prefers to stay in the Western Conference.

The Sacramento Kings are touted as his next destination, but a formal agreement is still not official. In the meantime, Russell Westbrook decided to spend his offseason with his family.

When a massive luxury yacht comes into the picture, it is generally considered expensive. He is not one to spend a lot of money unless his family is involved. But what caught the attention of fans was that he was captured shooting hoops on the deck.

Fans joke watching Russell Westbrook shoot a basketball on the yacht

Russell Westbrook had shared this clip as a story on his official Instagram handle. That largely means no one can reply to it unless they do so individually.

But the clip soon found its way onto X and TikTok, where fans quickly started posting their reactions. Most of them wondered if there was anyone to gather the basketball if it bounced off the yacht’s deck.

That was a troll at the two-time scoring champion’s recent shooting woes. They believe someone has to be there to grab the rebounds, whether on the yacht or in the water.

Other than that, fans felt it was unnecessary to flex a yacht, especially when Russell Westbrook is yet to find employment for next season. Check out examples of such comments below:

Westbrook knows fans are out there to troll him for anything he does. He has found ways to drown out the noise, either with his play on the court or by going about his business with his family or his other endeavors.

Russell Westbrook and wife Nina renew vows in Italy

Westbrook and his college sweetheart, Nina, were married in 2015. This weekend marks the 10th anniversary of their unification, and the couple decided it was the perfect time for a getaway.

They traveled to Portofino, Italy, and held a vow renewal ceremony. Against the backdrop of the stunning Ligurian Sea, event handlers arranged a picturesque setting. The outdoor ceremony was white themed, as were the outfits chosen by the couple.

TMZ Sports reported that the NBA star elected to go shirtless, wearing just the blazer and trousers, whereas his wife, Nina Westbrook, went with an elegant white dress replete with a diamond ring. Only their closest friends and family were present, along with some stringed musicians. During the ceremony, the couple became emotional, knowing what they had endured together over the past decade.

It seems this getaway will continue until their 10th anniversary. After that, he should be gearing up to return and sign with his next team as he looks to continue playing in the league.
