Russell Westbrook’s free throw after Zion Williamson’s foul help Wizards inch past Pelicans 117-115

Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook
Russell Westbrook drained in pair of free throws after Zion Williamson fouled him with one second remaining in OT to lead the Washington Wizards to victory against New Orleans Pelicans 117-115. The charismatic duo of the home team, Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook combined to score 66 points. Wherein Beal knocked 30, Westbrook had 36 points, 15 assists and 9 rebounds.
If the Washington Wizards were to overturn their horrendous start of the season to a potential chance of making it into the play-in tournament, such performances are vital. Bradley Beal, the NBA’s leading scorer, added 30 points despite going 0 for 9 on 3-point attempts. Russell Westbrook scored 10 out of Washington Wizards’ 12 points in OT.

Brandon Ingram scored 34 for New Orleans and Zion Williamson added 21 but was in foul trouble throughout. He picked up his sixth while guarding Russell Westbrook away from the basket. That came right after Zion Williamson turned the ball over at the offensive end.
It was 103-94 for New Orleans with 5 1/2 minutes left, but Westbrook’s fast-break layup with 77 seconds to go capped an 11-2 run by Washington that tied it at 105. Neither scored again in regulation.
The Wizards entered Friday 12th in the Eastern Conference and their 21-33 record put them one game behind the 10th-place Chicago Bulls. The New Orleans Pelicans came in at 25-30, two games behind San Antonio for 10th in the Western Conference.
