The NASCAR fandom is looking forward for the unofficial opener, The Clash at the Bowman Gray Stadium, this Sunday. Cup gargae is already at the track, with Chase Elliott taking the pole position at the Madhouse. It marked the first time since 1971 at the Winston-Salem track is hosting an official NASCAR race.

The 2023 NASCAR Cup champion Ryan Blaney sees a lot of opportunities with the race and doesn’t think The Clash needs to stay at Bowman Gray. He pointed out that the race offers the perfect opportunity to host the event on the different part of the country to attract many fans and possibly go international.

Yeah, I mean I said it earlier, this is the perfect race you have a chance to move it around. Go to different parts of the country, maybe even outside of the USA, to give a different part of the, an area and a fanbase something to watch. NASCAR and Cup cars in general

Ryan Blaney said to the media at Bowman Gray.

The No:12 Team Penske Racing Ford Mustang driver further pointed out he doesn’t have any real reservation about where NASCAR is going to host the race next as long as it isn’t a point paying event.

I don’t really have any preference or reservations about going anywhere.

Chase Elliott agrees with Ryan Blaney’s preposition

The 2020 Cup Series champion and Blaney’s close friend Chase Elliott shared his feelings about the suggestions. He pointed out that though it’s tough to go abroad and race, it would be really great opportunity to do something that could attract more fans while not risking anything with hosting point-paying races.

I kind of like Ryan’s thought of potentially getting outside of the United States. I know we’re kind of testing the waters a little bit with the Mexico City thing this year, but I think the real test would be going overseas. And this race would be a good opportunity to do something like that that wouldn’t be, you know, committing to a points race somewhere like, a long way away.

Chase Elliott said.

The comments from the two NASCAR Cup Series champions are something the sanctioning body should take into account. It would be interesting to see how the if the series owner would keep the race at Bowman Gray next-season or move another track in US or outside.
