Ryan Clark’s tweet has been getting a lot of attention following the incident on Saturday, when a man was reportedly shot and killed by federal agents/ICE in Minneapolis. Clark called the deceased man a “hero.”
According to reports from CNN and the New York Post, a 37-year-old Minneapolis resident, Alex Pretti, died due to a gunshot wound at 9:05 local time. Pretti, an Intensive Care Unit nurse at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center for around five years, reportedly tried to stop the Border Patrol agents from arresting a woman.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that the officers acted in self-defense after Pretti allegedly approached them holding a gun.
It couldn’t be any clearer.

The agent in the gray jacket removes Alex Pretti’s handgun — and the agent in green empties his magazine into Alex’s back.
That’s right.
He shot him in the back.
Because @CBP and @ICE are a bunch of cowardly pieces of shit.https://t.co/YwpYs7iApR
Hours after the incident, Ryan Clark shared his thoughts with the rest of the world.

Ryan Clark’s honest opinion about Alex Pretti’s death
Bystanders and those close to Alex accused the authorities of lying, insisting that Pretti was holding his phone, not a firearm. That being said, the DHS shared a photo of a handgun on social media, which they said belonged to Pretti.

However, the local police Chief Brian O’Hara said at a news conference that Pretti was believed to be a lawful gun owner with a permit to carry.

Amidst the tension between the federal and local authorities, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that Pretti flashed his gun at the officers and they only “responded according to their training.”
However, Pretti’s parents, Michael and Susan, refused to believe the slander spread by the authorities against their son. They called for the “truth” to come forward.
We are heartbroken but also very angry. The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting.

Clark wasn’t the only one to speak out against ICE brutality. Former VP of the nation, Kamala Harris expressed grief after hearing about Pretti’s death.
Alex and tens of thousands of Minnesotans have boldly defended their neighbors against the murderous occupation of an American city by the federal government. I am enraged and heartbroken for Alex, his family, Minneapolis, and America.
Kamala Harris tweeted
Alex Jeffrey Pretti was an ICU nurse at a VA hospital. His life, through his profession, was dedicated to serving his community and our country.
